On my Plate: Yuan, Dubai.
My best friend lives for good Chinese food… so when I heard that The Atlantis Hotel opened a brand new Chinese restaurant, we had to go and check it out. Definitely for a night you’re looking to splurge on, but great food and beautiful venue. For more on the restaurant, check out the review below.
Restaurant name and location: YUAN, Atlantis Hotel on The Palm
Cuisine: Chinese Fine Dining/Szechuan
Atmosphere: Buzzing on a week night. Gorgeous venue. Reminds me of Zuma and Hakassan. Chic interiors, Dj playing music, and quite a romantic ambience
What they say:
Yuan is a blend of traditional Szechuan cuisine and culture, presented in a uniquely contemporary elegance. Yuan brings together the fiery and diverse flavors of the Sichuan province, served in a distinctively modern style. Diners can be seated in an Oriental Inner Courtyard, designed using Chinese elements of harmony and balance or in the Principal House, where the scenes of nature and warm interiors are reminiscent of dining halls built for Chinese nobility. Alternatively, guests can choose to relax and escape by entertaining in our private dining room.
What to order:
-Wagyu beef (super soft, melts in your mouth!)
-Sweet n Sour Chicken with Fried rice
-Dumplings
-Mousse cheesecake (it has a delicious lemon tangy taste, so if you like lemon tarts, order this for dessert.)
-Tapioca Mocktails (they have bubble tea mocktails with the tapioca balls, I was over the moon about this!)
Service: Super, they have quite a bit of staff – we were taken care of.
What I loved:
-They have their own private entrance at the front, perfect if you don’t want to be walking around Atlantis whilst heading for a night out.
-If you’re looking for a forma/dressy Chinese restaurant, this is it.
-They have a Peking Duck roll station
What I didn’t love as much:
-Super pricy. Not exactly your go to place when craving Chinese.
Bill for two: AED 940 (sans alcohol)
