The best products for Strobing

February 1
Comments

I’m having a strobing moment these days… When used correctly, Strobing can really add to the face. Contouring sculpts the face, whereas highlighting really lifts the face and the luminosity gives off a fresh and dewy face effect.

Here are a few of the products I’m obsessing over at the moment:

-Highlighter Stick: Benefit Watt’s Up

Highlighting sticks are probably the easiest ones to use in comparison to creams, liquids and powders as they usually come on the most naturally. I love this one by Benefit, which is a cream to powder product. It comes in one shade, which is a soft champagne glow and it gives the most beautiful subtle glow. This definitely wins as one of my favorites and I’ve heard the Kardashian’s artists love it!

-Liquid Highlighter: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector

This is one of my favorites for something a little more natural. It really does perfect the skin with light-perfecting pearls. I love this one for a subtle radiant glow. It’s very light, so even though it has enough pigment, it’s sheer enough for it to look soft.

-Pre Make-up: MAC Strobe Cream

This is a product I LOVE to use underneath my make up. A strobe cream, it’s an illuminating base that has a little more highlighting pigment so you can really wear it without any make up, or I like to use it on my cheekbones underneath my foundation. What I also love, is the fact that the cream is infused with botanicals, vitamins and green tea to wake the skin up, as well as giving your complexion a dewy and illuminating base.

-Pigmented: Wow by Wojooh liquid gems face illuminator

With illuminators, they’re usually not very high in pigment but this one by Wow by Wojooh is as metallic as you can get! The Gold Mirage is one of my favorite shades and really gives the most amazing bronzed glow.

-Liquid illuminator: NARS illuminator in Copacabana

I don’t really love liquid illuminators (I prefer sticks and creams) but this one is good for that pearl finish. The Copacabana shade is a pearly peach, and I love it as a base, mixed with foundation or just applied on the skin to reflect light off your skin.

-Primer: Illamasqua Radiance Veil

Most illuminating primers are just too light in pigment that I end up looking more oily than dewy. This wins as my favorite primer in line with the Dior Glow Maximizer. High in pigment, comes on smoothly and you can apply with your hands – it gives the most incredible glow with or without foundation over it.

-Stick: Flower Glisten up highlighter chubby

The first product I’ve ever used from Drew Barrymore’s make up range and I’m obsessed with this. Comes in different shades, this comes on in a very dewy, natural finish so it adds this beautiful warm glow which I love! Just make sure to not keep it in heat as my stick broke off.

-Powder: Courreges for Estee Lauder illuminations face powder

A limited edition collaboration between Courreges and Estee Lauder, this product is one of my favorites from the range (the collaboration sold out very fast in the US!) A gorgeous champagne hued powder, it really blends on the skin very easily without giving off a powdered finish. If you’re into subtle highlights and wanting something to last all day, this is it.
