Five Favorite Beauty Buys – January 2016

Hair: Alterna bamboo uplifting root spray

I discovered this product at Dollhouse salon when my stylist, Rebecca sprayed it on my roots for volume. I’m not usually the biggest fan of product on the roots but this smelt good and felt light on the scalp. Made out of bamboo extracts and maca root, I like using this on 2nd day flat hair for a little bit of drama on the roots.

Face: Makeup Forever Ultra HD Liquid Foundation

This always was one of my favorite foundations on the market, but thought I’d re mention this because they just relaunched with a lot more shades (40 shades in total!). Quite light on the skin, it has a medium to full coverage and really gives off a flawless airbrushed finish. The HD counterpart makes this perfect for photos, TVs (and um, selfies). I tend to wear this on nights out and it lasts me all night without my skin getting oily.

Skincare: Hansderma Skincool Ice Roller

This is great for when you’ve had a long night – at work or a night. I store this roller in my freezer and just roll it all over my skin to help with puffiness and inflammation. Even if you don’t have that issue, it’s a refreshing way to wake up in the mornings!

Lips: Charlotte Tilbury Matte revolution lipsticks

I live for matte lipsticks and find myself only wearing them these days. This one is in between a matte and creamy texture so even though you get a soft matte effect, your lips still feel hydrated due to the lipstick being enriched with Papaya and Orchid. Beautifully packaged (reminds me of my grandma’s lipsticks) and smells so good -My favorite shades are the Very Victoria and Sexy Sienna. For more of a matte look, I like using a lipliner underneath.

Illuminator: Anastasia Beverly Hills illuminating powder

I must say I knew Anastasia Beverly Hills’ beauty products were impressive, but didn’t realize the variety she had. I love the pigment of the illuminating powders. Comes in 4 different shades, I like using it on after a liquid illuminator or just straight on skin – it blends easily onto the skin whilst giving off that glow you want to reflect from your cheekbones.
