Go out for ladies night at Okku O’Socialista
I’ve loved Okku since it first opened, so I’m pretty excited about their new ladies’ night on Wednesdays called O’Socialista. From 7-11pm, ladies have access to free flowing champagne and a choice of three signature cocktails (lychee martini and a mojito to name a few). They also have an exciting menu for the night, which include some of their best dishes, from their signature duck salad and sushi, to the black cod and chocolate fondant for dessert. I went with a few of my girlfriends a few weeks ago, and we had such a great time; their resident DJ Rafael played lounge music throughout the night. As always, we had an incredible night with great service (thanks to our server, Dimitrice!)
The menu costs AED379 for two

Take part in the Big Bubble Run
I love anything and everything that makes working out fun. I recently heard that the Big Bubble Run (I’ve done the Color Run, which is a fun run with paint and colors being thrown at you) and this sounds even more fun — a foam run! Taking place on April 8th at the Dubai Autodrome from 7-11am, this 5K run is the UAE’s first ever foam race. Great for adults, kids and families, the concept includes around 4 ‘foam shower zones’ where the bubbles and foam come out. The tickets cost AED185 and more details are on www.bigbubblerun.com

Make your own 3D candy at Candylicious
I eat way too much sugar and love my candy. I recently made my own 3D candy at Candylicious, Dubai Mall. As a candy lover, I was over-excited to customize my own Candy Art (you can choose everything from the words to the shapes) and finish it off with glitter. At AED50 for the launch month, it’s a great activity, corporate gift or children’s gift idea. Icing on the cake? The candies are vegan, gluten free and halal.

Get pampered on Friday mornings at Harvey Nichols for Beauty and the Brunch
I’m pretty excited about Friday mornings at Harvey Nichols Dubai, who just launched their ‘Beauty and the Brunch’ concept where you can come in for a blow dry at Profile Salon with a cup of coffee followed by a makeup session at the new beauty bar in HN downstairs to get your makeup done by a professional artist with a side of Essentially pressed juices. The service costs AED150, which is pretty amazing. I recently visited the store to give it a try, and highly recommend Ni’ma for hair at Profile (she gave me loose curls and lots of volume). I also went for a bronze glam by Hala at the beauty bar. Bookings can be made by calling the store at 044098888.

Get ready for the summer by customizing your own Summer sandals at Capri Touch
I live in sandals all year round in Dubai, but when I travel for the summer, that is all I pretty much pack. I always need something chic to wear with denim cut offs and summer dresses. I stopped by the brand new Capri Touch store in Dubai Mall, hailing straight from Capri, Italy. They sell some of the most luxurious Italian-made sandals featuring some of the best leather and swarovski crystals… but the best part? You can customize your own pair of sandals. I made my own, where they fitted them to my exact foot size! I also got to choose the heel, the leather, and the crystals before the pair was made to my specifications. To finish it off perfectly, you can also get your initials on there!
