Five Favorite Beauty Buys - March 2016
Tinted moisturizer: NARS Matte Velvet Skin Tint
I must admit, I couldn’t wait till this product launched. This is the hero product for NARS this year — you’ll see it in every magazine, including their ads. I’ve always been someone that found foundations too heavy for the day, and tinted moisturizers too light (unless I’m at the gym) but this one is right in the middle — light enough that you don’t feel like you’re wearing a foundation but enough coverage to make you feel like you can go out on in it! With an SPF of 30 and a matte finish, this is a product I currently LOVE. I’ve been using mine in the shade ’St Moritz’, which is Medium 1.
Drugstore buy: Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer
I’ve been on the hunt for good concealers over the past 6 months (check out the concealers guide!), and for a drugstore buy, I like this one by Bourjous. Great coverage, hydrates the skin and leaves a smooth finish.
Illuminator: DiorSkin Nude Air Glowing Gardens Illuminating powder
As you know, I love a good illuminator! This one by Dior from their Spring collection is beautiful; quite a spring-inspired illuminator, and it comes with a Kabuki brush. It’s a gorgeous pearly shade that you can subtly add on the top of the cheekbones for a soft glow.
Body: Frank Body Body Balm
My skin has been feeling so dry lately, so I’ve converted to using oils on my body once daily. I love Frank Body for the all the natural ingredients they use in their products. This one includes sweet almond oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil, coffee, shea butter and orange peel oil to name a few. It could have smelt a little better in my opinion for a fragrant base, but it feels very hydrating on the skin.
Nails: OPI Nail Envy Nail strengthener
I get manicures on a weekly basis, and never really give my nails any breaks, so unfortunately my nails have been weaker for the past few months, always breaking before my next manicure. A nail therapist suggested I start using a strengthening base coat, and also applying it as a top coat. I’ve been using the Nail Envy by OPI, which is great for sensitive nails that also peel. The product is formaldehyde-free and packed with nutrients for your nails like Vitamin E and Kukui nut oil.
