Casual Bites in Dubai

Mall restaurant + Best Dumplings = Ping Pong, Dubai Mall
When I used to live in London, Ping Pong was one of my favourite places to grab quick casual lunch – not to mention I die for dim sums and dumplings! A little late, but I only recently had dinner at the one in Dubai (which is in Dubai Mall). It’s very difficult to forget that DM have a lot of great casual restaurants on the basement floor if you want something more than just fast food. So if you’re craving dim sums, I highly recommend you head to ping pong – the restaurant easily makes you forget you’re in a shopping centre, everything tastes incredibly fresh and they also serve a gorgeous lemongrass mocktail and teas. My personal favourite dishes are the Prawn and chive dumplings, vegetable dumplings, lemon chicken and the honey chicken puff. If you love donuts, have their custard bun for dessert.

Italian crave + Outdoor seating = Sapori Di Bice, JBR The Beach
You might have remembered that I’ve recommended Sapori Di Bice less than a year ago. Brought to you by the same owners of Bice, and due to high demand – they just opened another branch at JBR The Beach. Beautifully placed right next to Laduree, Sapori is a great way to get the same quality Italian food like Bice, in a more casual setting and a more affordable price. My personal favourite dishes that you must order are Bresaola and Burrata (a starter dish), Kale salad with almonds, and I always get the sharing pasta dish and change them to the classic tomato papardelle pasta, Lemon zucchini shrimp pasta and lastly the tartufara with truffle.

Chicken Wings + Good Grease = Original Wings and Rings, Liberty House
Is it just me or is the latest food trend Chicken wings, after cupcakes, cronuts and burgers in Dubai DIFC? I never used to REALLY be able to satisfy those craves unless I was in the states but I recently checked out, Original Wings and Rings at DIFC’s Liberty House. A sports bar, that pretty much feels like the US. I would recommend this place for 2 things – a football game with beer and fried food and wings on the side or a spot to satisfy a wings crave. Have the buffalo quessadillas for starters with a side of fried pickles and their Onion ring tower. With the wings, you can choose the type (traditional, boneless to tenders) the sauce (my personal favorite was the garlic parmesan) and you can choose how spicy youd like it (the most spicy needs a waiver form) – if you have a sweet tooth, finish off with a chocolate brownie.
