Chic Stay: Vida Hotel, Dubai
Ideal for… a boutique hotel downtown stay in Dubai.
What: Vida Hotel, Downtown Dubai
Where: The heart of Downtown Dubai! Vida is a 5 minute walk to Dubai Mall and even closer to Souk al Bahar. That being said, it’s very central.
The Rooms: I stayed in a regular room – not the most spacious I’ve seen in Dubai but definitely minimal and clean. Their style is very contemporary, minimal with an Arabesque twist. My view was of Downtown and the pool, which was lovely.
The Bed: 7/10
The Toilets: Minimal – the shower and sink was in an open concept and there was a separate section for the toilet. The toiletries are by UK brand, Ginseng & Macadamia.
The Breakfast: I didn’t have a chance to have breakfast at the hotel but the Breakfast buffet is served at their main restaurant 3in1.
The Food (restaurants & bars): Vida is home to some of the best restaurants in the city. La Serre, a French Bistro which needs no introduction (see the full review here) and Toko, a Japanese restaurant (you can see the full review here). During my stay, I had lunch at 3-in-1 for their Urban Picnic – such an amazing concept where you can pick up a basket, blanket, a bottle of wine – help yourself to their adorable buffet and get hot food delivered to your table. I highly recommend it to hotel guests and people in Dubai!
Minibar: I was quite sad about this but Vida’s minibars are empty with two complimentary water bottles.
Pool, Spa & Gym: They have the most gorgeous pool with cabanas – only downfall is it’s the least private pool because it overlooks on the restaurants and rooms, as well as the 3in1 restaurant. They also have a 24 hour gym, but no spa.
Price: starts at AED1,200 – depending on the room and season.
Extra points:
-This is a city stay, so don’t expect to be close to any beaches.
-The boutique hotel is a lot more intimate than all the other ones in the city. After one day, most of the staff working knew my name which felt very cosy and home-like.
-Complimentary internet access, and had no issues with the internet.
-They have a smart tech concept with the TV, where you can order room service via the TV as well as find dishes on the menu depending on your mood!
-The hotel is quite a good value for money if you’re comparing between luxury hotels.
-The hotel is a fully non-smoking one.
