On my Plate: Mint Leaf of London, Dubai

Ideal for… Indian fine dining at a stylish hip joint.

Restaurant name and location: Mint Leaf of London in DIFC – Emirates financial towers, South tower, Dubai UAE

Cuisine: Indian fine dining

Atmosphere: There was something romantic and sexy about the place – with the gorgeous downtown view and dark lighting.

What they say: Set in a romantic under-the stars-theme of rich wooden panels confined in a perimeter of full length glass windows facing Sheikh Zayed Road, our Restaurant offers spectacular views from Bur Dubai to Dubai Marina, with a low lit, elegant setting that gives a warm, informal and intimate ambiance.

Our open kitchen showcases the dynamic culinary talent of our highly skilled chefs preparing mouthwatering dishes, infused with contemporary elements whilst preserving the tradition of authentic Indian cuisine.

What to order: Everything we had was good… and incredibly flavourful.

-Kadai spiced crispy soft shell crab

-Tandoori Jheenga (tandoori prawns)

-Dal maki (Black dal)

-Lasooni Chicken Tikka (chicken breast with yoghurt)

-Chicken tikka makhni (pretty much like butter chicken – delicious!)

-Rara Gosht (diced leg of lamb in spiced lamb mince)

-Stuffed coriander stem and cheese naan

-Orange carrot cake with cinnamon cream

Service: Nisha, our waitress was amazing! She pretty much helped us order our whole dinner and everything was amazing. If you’re not very familiar with Indian food, it can be a complicated menu.

What I loved:

-The interiors of the restaurant, bar and lounge – including the art work.

-The tablet/wipes after the main course, that was very helpful

-The fresh tea post dinner (we had the Mint green tea and Queen Jasmine)

What I didn’t love as much:

-You do end up smelling of Indian food on your way out so if you don’t like smelling of food, this is one to think about.

Bill for two: AED400
