Tried & Tested: BLOW DRIES in Dubai. Part Two

Comments

For… A Visit to the Prettiest Salon.

What? Blow dry at Snob Salon

Where? Al Wasl Road, right next to Spinneys Umm Suqeim

The Process: A shower on luxe, yet minimal comfortable shower chairs followed by getting my hair blow dried followed by curled with a curling wand. The hair was then clipped to hold it together before letting them loose – a great tactic so the hair doesn’t loosen and drop after a few hours.

Experience: Quite a long experience, but it was still perfect on day two – definitely worth it. Thank god for magazines like Harper’s Bazaar Australia at the salon…

Results: Retro and curls that lasted!

Recommended stylist: Rana

Products used: Schwarzkopf – they also sell Bumble and Bumble at their retail corner.

Price: AED 170

For… A quick blow out.

What? Wash & blow-dry at Dollhouse Salon

Where? Dubai Ladies Club on Beach road

The Process: Got a wash on their minimal style seats with a lovely massage, comfortable enough followed by a blow-dry and got the hair curled with tongs.

Experience: It felt a little stressy as my stylist had a back to back schedule so I felt like it was rushed but I was happy with my final result. They have wifi, which is a plus!

Results: Perfect loose curls, and I even had a net applied to my hair as I needed it for the day after, never knew they existed!

Recommended stylist: Maya

Products used: Redken

Price: AED150

For… a classic blow dry.

What? Wash and blow dry at De La Mer Day Spa

Where? De La Mer Day Spa on Beach Road, Dubai.

The Process: Got a hair wash, felt like my hair was over brushed, blow dried, then curled with tongs.

Experience: Great, except for the fact that my hair stylist wanted to criticise my Ombre… I also really liked the reminder emails!

Results: I was worried my hair wouldn’t last as it wasn’t hard curls but lasted a good two days!

Recommended stylist: Rizlan

Products used: They most use L’Oreal and Alterna but they have a few other products from Matrix and Moroccan Oil.

Price: AED190

For… Quality Service

What? Ricci Capricci Salon

Where? Conrad Hotel on Sheikh Zayed road

The Process: A hair wash on comfortable shower seats with a massage before getting the hair blow dried and curled with tongs.

Experience: Great, super sweet team. I had no voice that day and they really took care of me.

Refreshments? One of the best coffees!

Results: My hair was curly for the full day and became slightly loose waves on the next day.

Recommended stylist: Bilal

Products used: They use a range of brands from L’Oreal to Kerastase

Price: AED150-200 depending on length

For… a Shopping Mall Hair stop.

What? Nstyle Salon

Where? They have several branches across town but I visited the Mall of Emirates one.

The Process: After a hair wash, my hair was blow dried and curled by strand.

Experience: The salon looks like a normal Arabic hair salon, nothing fancy. The magazines were local rather than international.

Results: My hair was tightly curled, but after an hour turned into beautiful loose curls, which lasted me a good two days.

Recommended stylist: Najla Seghaler

Products used: L’Oreal

Price: Starting from AED100
