On my Plate: Shanghai Chic, Dubai.

My favourite cuisine would have to be Chinese. After doing my research on great places to share with all of you, I discovered a ton of different ones I never even knew existed (so please don’t mind if you see quite a bit of Chinese food suggestions over the next year.) This is great if you live around the Ibn Batuta area, craving Chinese food, and would like an all you can eat option.

Restaurant name and location: Shanghai Chic, Moevenpick Ibn Batuta Gate, Dubai

Cuisine: Chinese

Atmosphere: Quiet, dark and cosy with a romantic touch & a chic entrance.

What they say: Imposing high ceilings and a colour palette of burgundy and black complements the exquisite Chinese creations at Shanghai Chic.  Our stylish and modern Chinese restaurant specialises in Cantonese and Shanghai cuisine, with a generous offering of traditional favourites like the distinct crispy Peking duck, served on thin pancakes with hoisin, onion and cucumbers.

What to order:

-Dim sum – chicken siew mai with dried shrimp

-Fried prawns coated with wasabi mayo

-Black pepper beef (Tender, perfectly cooked for the medium well)

-Chicken Sweet & Sour (not on the menu, but ask for it – comes with pomegranate!)

-Creme Brûlée with a chinese twist

Service: Great, the staff definitely took care of me and my guest.

What I loved:

-All you can eat Chinese

-I don’t eat pork, but they do have pork options for the people that enjoy it.

-The small portions allow you to try as many dishes, as well as keep a tight fit on the waist!

Cost:

AED188 without alcohol

AED288 with selected spirits
