On my Plate: Atelier M, Dubai
Ideal for… a fancy night out for drinks and dinner with that special someone on the Marina side.
Restaurant name and location: Atelier M at Pier 7, Dubai Marina (a building with 7 Food and beverage concepts under one roof – Atelier M is on the 7th floor)
Cuisine: French cuisine with an asian twist (a trend happening in new york city)
Atmosphere: Quiet, as it was a weekday and they still didn’t have the grand opening but the interiors were super glamorous and impressive.
What they say: Atelier M is a unique, soulful, multilevel dining and lounge experience in Dubai Marina. Occupying the top three levels of Pier 7, patrons can expect a truly top tier dining experience where après dining overlooks the panoramic vistas of the Dubai waterfront district. With a seafood emphasis, diners can enjoy the likes of lobster bocarrini & Alaskan king crab, prepared with the most rare, artisanal ingredients like hand churned butter sought out by celebrity head chef, Mohammad Islam.
What to order:
-Crab croquettes
-Beef carpaccio (garlic/truffle – one of the best)
-Tuna tartare (black pepper tinge)
-Jumbo shrimp salad (juicy)
-Eggplant with caramel soy
-Sweet potato as side
-The desserts were delicious… Valrhona foundant with coconut icecream & chocolate chips, Roasted spiced pineapple and Sticky toffee pudding
Service: Average, but I went out to the restaurant before their grand opening.
What I loved:
-Fully open plan kitchen
-Glamourous interiors and space – classic art deco with beautiful chandeliers.
-Lounge and bar on top, restaurant below.
-Sharing concept
-Interesting cuisine choice… French with an Asian twist. A trend going on in New York City.
-Classy looking and well dressed Parisian looking waiters.
Bill for two: AED400
