BEAUTY BUZZ: August 2012
Bronze: Victoria’s Secret Beach Sexy Instant Bronze Body spray
A fab spray mist that gives you a light bronze that blends into your skin and smells like summer in a bottle! For more, click here
Lips: Sally Hansen Vita-C Lip Plumper
I always carry a lipbalm wherever I am going – airport, gym, errands, out with friends to keep dry lips at bay – plus if you don’t have a gloss/lipstick at hand, a lipbalm is always a good enough alternative. I recently started using this new one from Sally Hansen (never used a lipbalm from Sally Hansen but thought I would give this one a go) I loved how it gave the right moisture without being too greasy, had vitamin C in it and plumps up the lip (a subtle but good enough plump!) I also love the packaging too.
Eyes: Clarins Kohl Kajal
If you’re Middle Eastern or asian, I’m sure you have come across Kohl Kajal before… Growing up, I used to always ask my friends who traveled to India or Pakistan to pick up a ton for me. I love the creamy texture and the pure black color it gives to the eyes – perfect for smokey eyes! Clarins have just come out with their own Kohl Kajal that I am obsessed with this month.
Fragrance: Truth or Dare by Madonna
I rarely ever fall in love with celeb fragrances, so this is one that comes up as a surprise – I LOVE Madonna’s fragrance. This lady sure does work hard on everything she puts her name to. The main accords are White Floral, and tuberose. Obsessed…
Nails: Ciate Nailpot in Strawberry milkshake
I love changing my nail color every 2 weeks – whether it is at home (I have quite a nail color collection) or at the nail salon. I love milky nude tones with a tan, and now that I finally had two consecutive days to sit under the sun, I went for a milky nude. If you’re looking for a great one, I definitely suggest you check out the Ciate nailpot in Strawberry milkshake.
Mascara: Bobbi Brown Intensifying Long-wear Mascara
One of my favorite mascaras in a very long time. I love this one by Bobbi Brown for several reasons… 1) The tube is super tiny and fits into any make up bag, 2) The wand is little, and skinny but so effective and reaches the tiny lower flashes. 3) you end up having control over every lash. 4) you always end up with great, defined, lashes!
BB cream: Clinique Age Defense BB Cream
I have been trying several BB creams, and finally came across one I really like. Generally a fan of Clinique’s products (especially the foundations) so thought this would be great to try. Super light on the skin, includes SPF 30, and has age defense. Best of all? the coverage is great. I’ve been using the 03 shade. Out in the Middle East in a few days 🙂 p.s. Clinique Arabia are now on facebook – check them out here
Sun: Bioderma Sun cream SPF 100
If you’re looking for a great and effective unfragranced sun cream, this is definitely one to check out. Invisible and great texture, perfect for the face, and waterproof. I love using it as a hand cream to multitask – keeps the age spots away!
Body: Sephora targeted smoothing body gloves
I recently started using those super cool glove ‘wipes’. ‘Wipes’ because they are sold in a wipes bag, but instead of removing a wipe, you get a glove instead. Each glove has exfoliating dents, and each glove has a fair amount of solution on it. The product is meant to soften skin, and remove dimples (cellulite). Now, I won’t say it removes cellulite but after using it every night before going to bed for the past two weeks, my legs & co have been feeling super soft – a fab alternative to an exfoliator!
Skin: Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel
I’m a huge fan of Elemis products, so expect to see quite a few mentioned in my Beauty Buzz features! I recently got my hands on one of their hero products, The Papaya Enzyme Peel that has just reach it’s 10 year anniversary (so I got my hands on the limited edition printed tube). I can’t speak about this product and not mention the smell, the product is papaya and pineapple in a tube (yummy!) A fab product that I use twice a week, and apply it on my face to leave on for 15-20 minutes. Great exfoliation, and a perfect pick me up for brightening the skin. A skincare investment I recommend!
Hands: Neom Organic Hand Cream
One of my favorite luxury organic brands, Neom have some amazing hand creams. I have both the Chamomile and Rose ones. The cream is rich, but not too greasy & the scent is beautiful. My favorite would have to be the ‘Inspiration’ one which includes: Violet, Chamomile, and Cedarwood. Bliss.
