Restaurant Review: Masti, Dubai

Ideal for… a play on Indian and Peruvian food
Restaurant name and location: Masti Cocktails and cuisine at La Mer by Meeras
Cuisine: Modern Indian
Atmosphere: La Mer itself was quite busy, but the restaurant was quiet – could be because the restaurant is fairly new, it’s on one end of La Mer, and they serve alcohol all day upstairs (it’s one of the few licensed restaurants at La Mer)
What they say: From the mind of award winning chef Hari Nayak, the Masti menu offers a reinterpretation of Indian cuisine, designed to share. From small plates to entire culinary journeys for two.
Dishes such as The Black Bass Ceviche, a Masti take on a Peruvian classic with lime, jalapeno and crispy Plantain, offering a mouthwatering combination OR the Bhatti Merguez delivers a heady mix of African and Indian flavours with succulent lamb, caramelized onion and a chili garlic masala.

What to order:
The space is truly so cool and quirky – loved the contemporary twist on Indian traditions (the space is actually two floors):
Beef carpaccio
Balsamic strawberry salad (super fresh and light)
The BC pizza (a butter chicken and burrata pizza – tastes even better than it sounds)
Chicken wings (comes with black pepper glaze and smoked espresso – I’m a sucker for good chicken wings and this was so good)
Lotus tiramisu

Service: Could be a little better with recommendations and menu knowledge, but definitely some of the sweetest staff.

What I loved:
-I’m so impressed by La Mer by Meeras’s concept – so it’s great to have a licensed option within the project.

Bill for two: AED450
