Ideal for… for an all round experience – dinner, atmosphere and music.
Restaurant name and location: Morah, JW Marriott Marquis Dubai
Cuisine: Mediterranean
Atmosphere: I usually go on Thursday nights – for dinner at Morah followed by drinks and a night out at Weslodge right under the restaurant. The atmosphere is always a lot more sophisticated (yet still keeping the brand’s cool edge) at Morah.
What they say: From the owners of the critically acclaimed Weslodge Saloon, Morah is poised to bring diners the vibrant and exciting flavors of the Eastern and Coastal Mediterranean. Morah, originally launched as the wildly successful Byblos in Toronto and Miami Beach (name changed due to local trademark), is located in the stunning two-storey space at the top of the JW Marriott Marquis.
This renowned world traveler is set to become part of Dubai’s sophisticated culinary scene.
What to order:
-Crispy squid
-Tomato salad (comes with Persian feta and pomegranate dressing – super refreshing)
-roasted red beets (comes with Labneh – the mix works oddly well!)
-Pide (all their pide’s are incredible, but you can’t leave without trying the black truffle one. I’m obsessed)
-48 short rib (if you love meat, this melts in your mouth)
-strawberry cheesecake qatayef (Make sure you make space for this dessert, because it’s truly unique and out of this world)

Service: Never had an issue with service and I go quite regularly. The staff have always been quite sweet, and know their dishes inside out.

What I loved:
-The whole concept is very unique – from the cuisine, interiors to their twist on drinks (especially the cocktails in Moroccan tea sets).
-The interiors are beautiful – and you don’t really realize it till you visit during brunch.
-The music, you get a mix of deep house and subtle r&b.

Bill for two: AED550
