What: BCL spa Pitaya hand and foot treatment at SOH beauty
The atmosphere: Soh is one of the prettiest salons here in Dubai, it feels like you’re getting your beauty treatments within an art gallery.
The experience: An antioxidant and organic treatment from the brand BCL Spa, the treatment includes a typical mani and pedi, with a hydrating treatment additionally using their Dragonfruit scrub and moisturizing cream (a key ingredient is jojoba oil)
Final note and results: My hands and feet felt very hydrated (I loved the fact that they use a skin analyzer before the treatment to show you your skin’s moisture levels).
Recommended therapist: Rhica & Kristal
Cost: AED280
Contact: http://soh.ae
Extra notes:
-Wish every salon gave a 2 minute complimentary massage before every treatment!
Recommended rating: 7.5/10

What: Full body massage at home with Sweet Violet
The atmosphere: The treatment took place at home, which is always nice – no need to drive or get up and get dressed.
The experience: My therapist arrived on time to my home, had her massage bed set up with some towels – she even brought a candle, and some relaxing music. It was an hour long Swedish massage at my chosen pressure using organic almond oil by the brand, Cosmeticq. I loved how it was a no fuss, straight to the point massage in my own home.
Final note and results: Relaxed, in my own home – so I was able to continue working from home – whilst getting my mindful fix.

-Sweet Violet also offer hair, nails, waxing to massages

What: Snowman Manicure at Kozma and Kozma
The atmosphere: A brand new American salon on Al Wasl Road, I’m always down to check out new salons. A lot of the time, they’re all very similar so it’s always good when they have something that draws you in – be it originality, cool interiors to impeccable treatments. This one was quirky, especially loved the juice bar with their customized designer mocktails to the pick and mix sweet bar.
The experience: I was especially impressed with their salon menu – they do have a ton of different mani/pedis – coffee pedi to a green tea mani. I went for their best selling treatment, the snowman manicure. The treatment has a fun aspect to it – while you play around and make your own snowman, you’re softening your hands with the cold gel caviars (which doesn’t have any toxins or parabens in) – they definitely don’t dry out as much as a water soak would. This is continued with a traditional mani (cut, filing, cuticle work and a massage)
Final note and results: A lovely experience, makes for a great birthday gift too.
Recommended therapist: Lorna, she’s super sweet!

Extra notes:
-The salon use 3 nail polish brands – OPI, Essie and Ella & Mila
Recommended rating: 9/10

What: Rahua Hair treatment at LivNordic spa
The atmosphere: A brand new Nordic spa, you feel a sense of zen as soon as you enter. They only just opened mid this year, it’s still work in progress but I already loved it.
The experience: Loved by celebrities, Rahua is an organic and natural brand made out of ingredients from the Amazonian jungle. The treatment took place in their hair room – which looked more spa like than a salon, which was quite nice. The treatment started with two shampoos, before the mask getting applied (Kim gave one of the most incredible massage to help the treatment penetrate into the cuticles) and ended with the conditioner. My hair was then dried (alongside a signature Nordic blueberry tea, blueberries and some nuts). I opted for a simple blow dry to experience the treatment properly.
Final note and results: My hair felt super hydrated, soft and I was quite relaxed post that lovely scalp massage.
Recommended therapist: Kim for the treatment and Mari Lou for the styling
Cost: AED250 (which includes the wash and blow dry)

Extra notes:
-Finding parking in Marina is a nightmare, but they do have parking available within their Cayan building, which is very nice.
-Rahua has a great celeb following including Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez.
Recommended rating: 9/10 – the only last point was because my hair was a little greasy the morning after.
What: Blow out at the new Blow Out bar, Palm Jumeirah
The atmosphere: I love blow out bars, so I couldn’t wait to check this place out. Reminded me a lot of Dry Bar in the US, it wasn’t too packed – which I’m guessing because it was a weekday afternoon, the Golden Mile shopping centre hasn’t been completed and the blow dry bar was very new.
The experience: The staff were super sweet. As soon as I arrived, I met my stylist, Meerim – where she showed me the menu on the iPad, before heading to the basin to wash my hair (they use Redken and Kevin Murphy products)
Final note and results: I must say, I always struggle to get true beach waves in Dubai, and absolutely loved everything about my hair!
Recommended therapist: Meerim
Cost: 110-140AED
