-BEACH DAY: Nikki Beach Dubai
I must say, I was a little skeptical when I heard Nikki Beach was opening in Dubai. Generally, beach club parties never do as well here as they do in Europe – hence the reason they attract a very specific crowd. I recently went there for a beach day on a Saturday with my sister. We booked a luxury day bed to tan (even though we spent most of our time on the free beds in the water – loved them – because you can tan without getting too hot, as the water is right there). Post tanning, we headed to the beach club restaurant, which could be the best beach club restaurant in Dubai – the Quesadillas were delicious (and slightly spicy) and their chicken satay was also quite good. Their menu included quite a variety from sushi, sliders to salads, the music was perfect (chilled deep house) and the staff & crowd weren’t pretentious. I will definitely be spending weekends to come there.

-WEEKEND PLAN: Organize a night of Karaoke at Ten Street
I recently realized I haven’t had a night of Karaoke in Dubai, and decided to plan it for a Thursday night out. A new spot in JBR, Ten Street recently opened where Traders Vics was based. I wasn’t a huge fan of the room, but would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a night of singing and drinks in the Marina/JBR area. The staff were incredibly sweet, a very casual and chilled spot with music, pool tables and a karaoke room. You just need to make sure you book the room in advance, and spend a minimum of AED250 on food/drinks every half an hour. The room fits around 6 people in one go – and you can get around 3-4 microphones.

-PETS: Get your pets groomed at the comfort of your home with Miss Meow
With two dogs at home that don’t get on well, we spend so much time organizing grooming once a month. I was recently introduced to Miss Meow, a mobile grooming service for pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, birds – you name it), so I decided to try it out for Snoopy and Bambi. One thing I really loved about the concept – is the healing aspect to it. The van is actually incredibly clean – as clean as a clinic, air conditioned, has healing music playing (which relaxes the pet, according to the owner, Nadin) as well as a lavender and chamomile aroma. Personally, I always felt the loud noises at groomers scared off the dogs. Both dogs went for the full experience – a shower, de-shedding, hair cut, ear cleaning, nail cutting and a cologne at the end. I love feeling the passion from a start up business, and I really felt like they did an impeccable job with the dogs. Alex, their groomer was super sweet, helpful and also gave us great tips for the dogs.

-DINNER: Sushi Wednesdays at Cavalli restaurant
Lots of exciting things happening in Dubai, even on the weekdays – which is always nice. I recently went to Cavalli Club, Restaurant and Lounge after quite some time to check out their Sushi Wednesdays night. A little impressed that they attract a local crowd for dinner, men and women in their national dress – ones that wouldn’t generally visit the club. The night, which is called Sushi & Bubbles costs AED299 per person, and the guest can enjoy an unlimited amount of sushi and prosecco from 8 30pm to midnight (After 12 on Wednesdays, they play luxury hip hop all night). The sushi was actually really good – my personal favorites were the California Maki, Prawn tempura maki, volcano roll and Grilled Chicken Teriyaki Maki. Elwin, our server was super sweet and cute – and we even got the chef to come down and customize tailored sushi to our liking!
