Beauty Service: Top gear services at Pastels Salon

For the busy women like me, this is genius. Pastels Salon launched a new range of services, where you get as many therapists working on you to get the fastest treatment possible. I came in for the Top Gear perfection at the Wasl Road branch, which was a manicure, pedicure, blow dry, head and shoulder massage (I skipped the root color). I had one therapist on my left hand, another on my right hand, another on my left foot and another on my right foot as well two others doing my hair. I had a wash, curls and manicured hand and feet in an hour, and finished off with a head and shoulder massage, with my hair pinned up. My slight worry was my nails looking different, but Pastels therapists are on point and also made sure they cross-checked. Feels like you have your own glam team, I would only trust a few salons with this kind of service as you need consistently good therapists in one salon. Highly recommended – I was out pampered and glammed in 1.5 hours.

Fitness: Body Tree Studio, Abu Dhabi

A couple of weeks ago, I headed to Abu Dhabi to visit The Body Tree Studio owned by an inspiring woman, Nadia Sehweil and her mother, Sharifa Sehweil. A large villa, Body Tree is home to so much – Yoga (they pretty much everything except Bikram), Pilates (mat, reformer and the Cadillac – I took a private class on the Cadillac, which is really incredible and highly recommend everyone to try it), Dance (Zumba to Xtend Barre), Pre and Post Natal classes with experienced instructors as well as classes for kids (Ballet, Yoga, Zumba, Jazz and Music). Not only were the range of classes impressive, they have a retail section with selections from Hot Box Kit and Lorna Jane – but the most exciting feature? The Nectar Juice Bar. Located in the actual studio, it was launched and crafted by London-trained chef, Mira Naaman Iskandar in partnership with the studio’s co-owner, Nadia Sehweil. My personal favourites were the green juice and carrot cake smoothie as well as snacks like the kale chips, granola and protein fudge balls. You lucky AD people!

Health: Fruitful Day

I recently discovered this incredible service called Fruitful Day – a concept made for ‘Guilt-free snacking in the workspace’. A subscription service for curated fresh fruits that are in season and available in the region that come in weekly (you choose by size – small and large as well as the type – staple and discovery). I tried the small discovery box, which is a surprise box with different fruits. You get fruits that are seasonal (I haven’t had good fruit in Dubai for a while, and you can really tell Fruitful day handpick everything). My box included 25 servings of fruit. Everything is washed, so you don’t really need to do anything except grab a serving. The fruit are also sanitized with baking soda, so they are free of soap and chemicals. The zipper bags are also biodegradable, compostable and non-toxic. My favorites were the figs from Tunisia, white grapes from Iran and mango from Pakistan.

Convenient, healthy and delicious.

Dessert: Healthy desserts from Sugarmoo

If you have a sweet tooth but want to go the healthier route this summer, Sugarmoo Desserts have just launched a range of healthy desserts made with healthier ingredients. The range includes raw energy bombs, which are made with dates and raw cocoa, oatmeal cookies with cherry and white chocolate, Crazy cake, which has no eggs, no dairy or no butter and ends with my favourite out of them all – The Vanilla chia seed pudding, sugar free chia pudding with raw vanilla beans – topped with fresh fruits, granola and honey. The chia pudding comes in cute little jars, so it’s definitely an idea for any summer parties planned.

Car: Audi TT Coupe 45 TFSI S tronic

If you follow me on snapchat (snapchat name: myfashdiary), you would have seen that I test drove an Audi TT a few weekends ago. I had an adorable yellow (they call it the Vegas yellow), two door sporty car – the back seats are a little pointless but works well if you were counting it as a spacious two seater. The car looked incredibly simple and basic, yet had most of the features of other cars (minus a screen, everything was controlled by the wheel). The car had a luxurious feel with the quilted leather interiors as well as the sound system by Bang & Olufsen. I only got to drive the car for two days but I fell in love with the car – super easy, has a nice drive, fits everywhere (I love a non bulky car), yet feels luxurious and quite sporty at the same time.

Beauty range: Chidem Beauty

I was recently introduced to beauty brand, Chidem Beauty – and I had to share it with all of you. A personalised bespoke beauty brand, where a range is created for you depending on your skin type and your concerns using natural botanical ingredients. The brand have generic ranges to purchase depending on your skin, but you can also take the made to order route, answer a questionnaire and get a whole range delivered to you. Even though mine took some time to get to me, i was really impressed with the products – especially with the cleanser. Everything is all natural, with the ingredients clearly stated. As I’ve been getting quite a few breakouts, mine was created as an Anti-blemish, sebum reducing range made for oily to combination skin. Ingredients in my products include Organic Alpine Willowherb, Nettle, Green clay, and Witch Hazel. They might not smell the best due to natural ingredients, but they really feel fresh, non toxic and good for the skin.

Beauty product: Real Techniques brushes

Your brushes are really everything. Good skin, good make up, good application AND good tools make a good face. Some of my first brushes were from real techniques, and I still find my self going back to them whenever I need good brushes. I recently received some comments on what my favorite brushes are, and those are definitely them. Started by pro make up artists and youtubers, founders Sam & Nic really create the products people need. Recently, I’ve been using the concealer brush (which is an angled one) and the sculpting set for contouring.
