Chic Stay: Metropolitan by Como Hotel, London

Ideal for… Understated Luxury, perfect for work trips.

What: Metropolitan Hotel by the Como group in London

Where: Old Park Lane, Mayfair, by the Hyde Park Corner area – London, UK

The Rooms: Modern & Minimal style, carpeted with wood and purple hues. The rooms are quite spacious and include lots of mirrors and natural light.

The Bed: Large and cosy – I give it an 8/10.

The Toilets: The Toiletteries are by Como Shambhala – the brand of their spa and spa products. The toilets have shampoo, conditioner and bath salt with lotion. I was impressed with the towel heater and digital weighing scale.

The Breakfast: Breakfast is usually in the White room but during my stay, it was at Nobu. A la Carte, they have everything from eggs benedict to oatmeal and a healthy Como Shambhala menu. Every morning, guests are served with a healthy shot. Personal recommendations for breakfast would be the egg white omelette with cheese and mushrooms and oatmeal with a side of bananas. They have take away options too if you’d like to take your coffee on the go.

The Food (restaurants & bars):

-You might know this hotel for being the home to one of the top restaurants in the city, Nobu. (Japanese food, don’t be shocked if you bump into celebrities.)

-The White Room for breakfast

Minibar: Chocolate bars, Firefly juices, Starbucks Frapp, Vita Coco Coconut water, cereal bars, adaptor, hand sanitiser, Panadol activist and Berocca – they’ve thought of everything.

Pool, Spa & Gym: Gym and the Como Shambhala spa.

Price: Hotel prices change but my studio cost around £590 a night during fashion week excluding VAT.

Extra points:

-Quality service. Everything was on point but I always preferred to speak to the managers on duty for things to get done.

-Don’t worry about getting your fitness on – they have yoga mats in the cupboard!

-You get a Nespresso machine in the room – perfect for the coffee addicts.

-Music additions too… Bose speakers are available in the room.

-The hotel smells very spa like, Zen in the city.

-For longer stays, they have apartments down the road.

-Internet is included but sadly I had to experience internet issues during my stay due to BT. Grr…
