I love Caramel lounge, and have been going since it opened. However, I always associated it with a night place and never thought it even opened during the day. I recently went to catch up with a friend over quick lunch, and decided to check out the newly relaunched business menu at Caramel. Being someone that never has time during the day, and want something quick – this really is a great option during the week.

Restaurant name and location: Caramel Lounge at DIFC, Dubai.

Cuisine: They consider themselves an American restaurant, but their cuisine is quite international.

Atmosphere: I was there during lunch time, for their business lunch so a lot different to their night atmosphere. This is quieter with a corporate feel.

A choice of petite plate:

Ceasar salad

Chicken lettuce bites (recommended, one of their signature starters!)

Caramel veggie roll

Seared Kobe Beef Carpaccio

Grand plate:

Kobe beef bolognese

Buffalo chicken wrap (tastes like chicken wings in a wrap.)

Braised hammour

Chinese chicken salad (delicious. Light, refreshing and filling… The added crunch from the cashews is just perfection.)

A choice of side:

Pomme frites

Forest mushrooms

Service: Our server, Arnold was a joy.

What I loved:

-Straight to the point, you can be in and out within an hour.

-At night, the restaurant is quite dark – I like the natural light during the day. Refreshing…

-Affordability. 79 AED per person is a score!

What I didn’t love as much:

-I wish more of their signature dishes were featured in the business lunch menu like the sliders, dynamite shrimps or shawarma bites.

-Don’t expect it to be buzzing like the evening, It’s definitely quieter. Leave the business talks for day and entertaining for night.
