On my Plate: Kanpai, Dubai.
Souk al Bahar has been buzzing the past few months, it really is the place of the moment. I recently went to check out Kanpai with a few girlfriends for a girl’s night out – drinks and asian food is the perfect combination.
Restaurant name and location: Kanpai at Souk Al Bahar, Dubai.
Cuisine: Japanese
Atmosphere: Full, but not too busy. A mix of different ages and crowd – yet it’s still happening. The music from their bar can be heard at the restaurant so you get to enjoy good tunes, whilst being to hear the people you’re well. Plus points for Kanpai!
What they say: Kanpai Restaurant & Lounge is situated in the heart of Dubai’s prestigious Souk Al Bahar. Being a stones–‐throw away from the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and the infamous Dubai Fountain Show, it is a location that is truly second to none.

What to order:
-Edamame
-Shrimp gyoza (delicious fried Shrimp dumplings, delicious!)
-Muramatsu (Beef Skewers in teriyaki sauce and wasabi)
-Sushi: They have great sushi – a few of our favourites… mango chicken sushi, crunchy california, tuna roll
-Mango Sticky Rice (my favourite Thai dessert.)
-Green Tea Tiramisu
-Kanpai cocktail (Martini with Vanilla Vodka)
Service: 10/10
What I loved:
-Great music, Rnb hip hop that is played at the bar, which you could also hear at the restaurant.
-Delicious food, at a quarter of Zuma’s price.
-Interiors are beautiful, lounge like. I left wanting to take my friends there the next night.
What I didn’t love as much:
-As it’s quite new, this is not one to complain about – but a cooler crowd.
