Fash Fitness: Pilates Pro Works, NYC.

While I was in NYC, I popped over to Pilates Pro Works – they sounded like such a fun and hip studio (and had barre), it definitely looked like one I had to check out. Situated in union square, I took part in the Barre pro class – which was a barre class mixed with cardio (my kind of workout). I fell in love with the studio the minute I entered – super spacious, very clean, a range of magazines (they had around 30 current ones), fab changing rooms, with a dressing room filled with the greatest products.

Moving on to the class, My instructor was Kelsey – super sweet, and attentive. We spoke a bit about my barre addiction before my class and she explained that Barre pro was a mix of all the things people love in Barre classes around town mixed into one. The music was great, the class wasn’t slow and wasn’t fast that I couldn’t keep up. It was a great workout and different to other barre classes I’ve taken part in due to cardio moves. I tend to mix up my workout during the week to get a mix of cardio and barre/pilates so this is definitely something I’ll do again. My only concern was the wooden floors – I usually like the floor carpets Barre classes have.

Pilates Pro works also have several other classes includes Barre-x, which is half barre/half TRX (which sounds like an ideal workout too!), reformer pilates (judging by the class going on, this seems to be super popular with a waiting list) as well as several others! If you’re in NYC, Chicago or San Fran or visiting soon, I recommend you check the studio out!
