Stylish Reads: November & December 2011
Anyone that knows me, knows they can give me a caramel iced coffee and a bunch of magazines, and I will be in my own world for a few hours… I read about 50 magazines a week – whether it is a monthly, weekly, supplement, international, or free magazine – I read it all! I have teamed up with Newsstand.co.uk to share some great stylish reads!
–Jalouse Magazine:
One of my favorite french fashion magazines – I make sure to pick up a copy whenever I’m in Selfridges, Paris, Cannes… If you’re not too familiar with the magazine, I suggest you check it out! This magazine always leaves me with the urge to SHOP. Great styling, attention to detail product shots (you really get a feel of the product), perfect visuals and I love the magazine is very well edited with a great stylist eye. To top it off, huge fan of this cover girl – Clemence Poesy!
–Schon! Magazine:
If you’re one that enjoys photography – I suggest you check out Schon! magazine. It is all about pictures, creativity with great photography. There is a great article in this issue named ‘The art of Beauty’ – The magazine also features a great range of interviews and taboo articles. It is more about looking at Fashion as art, rather than shopping for fashion.
–Ponystep magazine
Not your ordinary fashion magazine cover.(hilarious & eyecatching cover!) The magazine on the other hand is interesting & a clear and easy read… This issue features interesting interviews with Fashion Insiders including the likes of Laura Bailey, Franca Sozzani and Holly Fulton. Great inspiration for shoots (Ellen Von Unwerth shot an editorial) and Grazia’s Melanie Rickey is a contributing editor. The magazine is also great to find out which photographers, artists and stylists you should have your eye on as it is quite up to date with the Fashion & Art culture.
– Lula Magazine
Lula is an all-british magazine that is edited by one of my favorite stylists, Leith Clark – The magazine is purely fashion based filled with great illustrations by talented illustrators. A great source of inspiration & is the perfect coffee table magazine. In terms of a good read – the magazine is heavy with content and features stylish, yet super creative shoots.
-Metal Magazine
Last but not least, another magazine worth checking out is Metal Magazine. One thing I really really love in Metal is the quality of the interviews – if you’re a fan of reading interviews (I sure am), I suggest you check this out. The current issue features interviews with the likes of Manish Arora & Olivier Thyskens to name a few. The magazine also had a clean and minimal feel, with high quality poster paper.
