Chic Stay: COMO Uma Ubud, Bali

The hotel: COMO Uma Ubud, Bali
The Location: Ubud, in Bali – there are so many different places worth visiting in Bali. After speaking to several people, Ubud seems to be the best place for a relaxing holiday.
The design: Compared to the COMO Shambhala Estate, which is also in Ubud, Bali – Uma Ubud is more intimate, a honeymooner’s spot and is a 5 star hotel – but it’s quite affordable.
The room: During my stay, I stayed in a Pool villa – which was absolutely beauty. Simple, minimal and spacious – with our own terrace, which came with chairs, sun beds and a little pool. If you’re going with a plus one, I definitely recommend the room.
One thing I love about COMO hotels is that whichever city or hotel you’re in, there’s a yoga mat in your cupboard.
The toiletries: Every COMO property uses their own brand of toiletries – which smells like a spa in a bottle.
The restaurants:
-We had breakfast daily at Kemiri (which serves a small variety of healthy options – I was obsessed with the sweet corn cakes, yum!)
-Uma Cucina is a lovely Italian restaurant at the hotel (and wins as one of the best Italian restaurants in Ubud)
The coffee: I’m so picky when it comes to coffee, and I must say I was really impressed with the coffee at Uma Ubud – which didn’t taste like machine coffee (they say Indonesian coffee is one of the best – and they’re famous for their Luwak coffee)
The spa: I didn’t get a treatment at the spa during my spa, but they do have a small spa that is authentic and zen.
The pool: There was a main pool at the hotel, and we also had one in our beautiful backyard. The pool also has a pool bar that they serve food at.
The gym: The gym is quite small and basic, but the daily yoga classes in the breathtaking Yoga pavillion (you must have seen my pictures on social media!) makes up for that.
The service: Personable and very sweet – the Como service is excellent worldwide (I know that, having stayed at 3 COMO properties so far)
Local recommendations: I stayed at the hotel for most of my stay in Bali, but if you do want to go to the city, which is very easy – the hotel is in the city centre, a 7 minute drive away. The hotel also offers shuttles to and from the city every two hours.
The hotel also organized a trip to the Rice plantation during our stay, which was walking distance from the hotel, and so lovely to see.
