Show report: Harvey Nichols SS16
There aren’t many fashion shows I look forward to in Dubai, but one which I do is the Harvey Nichols one. I’m always super impressed with the styling, show locations and theme. This season, the show took place at Imperium at Zabeel Saray, with a grand Shakespearean theme (the chandeliers were beautiful!) honoring the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. The models walked down the runway in beautiful crown braids (which are huge for SS16!)
Brands like Erdem, Peter Pilotto and Chloe were shown on the runway, and a few of the key trends that were in this season’s show included:
-Color:
It’s all about color next season — brights like corals and summery shades, all the way to pales and pastels.
-Shoulder Detail:
I loved the off-the-shoulder trend last summer, and I love that it’s here to stay this season!
-Flowy dresses:
My favorite pieces from the show were the flowy silk dresses; ones that would look perfect in St Tropez or the Croisette in Cannes.
-Appliques & Embellishments:
Lastly, all the heavier pieces, such as the Zuhair Murad ones showcased, featured the most beautiful appliqués and embellishments.
I hope you enjoyed my Snapchat and social media updates. Above are some of my picks from the show.
Harvey Nichols Dubai is at Mall of the Emirates.
