Restaurant Review: Atisuto, Dubai

Ideal for… Casual and chic Japanese food.

Restaurant name and location: Atisuto at Galleria Mall, Dubai
Cuisine: Japanese
Atmosphere: Galleria Mall on Al Wasl Road has a cool on the go vibe at Tasha’s, Home Bakery etc – Atisuto has the same kind of atmosphere.
What they say: Atisuto, the Japanese word for artist, is the epitome of all we represent. Located in The Galleria Mall on Wasl Rd we bring to you Japanese in Noh time!

What to order:
-Edamame
-Seaweed salad (always a Japanese favourite, quite small though)
-Sushi (I loved the California, very fresh.)
-Chicken Teriyaki (soft, juicy and flavourful with sticky rice)
-Australian Wagyu beef (Tender and new to the menu)
-Japanese cheesecake (cake based infused with citrus and topped with Apricot jam)
-Mochi Ice cream (I’ve had some bad kochi ice cream in Dubai. This tops as my favourite)

Service: Initially, our waitress was quite flustered, then we got a better one that took great care of us.

What I loved:
-The interiors – incredibly chic and very artsy and cool.
-If you don’t know how to eat with chopsticks, they have the cutest little pink rubber that you attach your chopsticks too (and get to keep!)
-Everything tasted fresh, and quite affordable!
-They are opening a new branch in Business Bay soon.
-They serve a large of iced teas – my favourite was the Kamomiru – chamomile tea with passion fruit, and lemon juice.
-The head chef cooks his eat on a lava griller from Japan that keeps the moisture in the food.

Bill for two: AED200
