On my Plate: Story Rooftop Lounge, Dubai.
Ideal for… a cool post-work place to grab drinks & a snack in the Media City area.
Restaurant name and location: Story Rooftop Lounge in the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Dubai Media City.
Cuisine: International/Peruvian
Atmosphere: I was there on a Sunday night – it was full yet relaxed. It’s quite packed on the weekends though!
What they say: Story Rooftop Lounge takes us back to basics. Bringing a down to earth and real venue to Dubai, it combines breathtaking sunsets and exhilarating sounds with an explosion of Peruvian flavours throughout its sharing menu. Appealing to those with a more rebellious approach to life, the venue is real, eclectic and aims to contradict the “bling bling” of Dubai
What to order:
-Quinoa salad (avocado, lemongrass, olive oil, hummus, lime, cheese & quinoa – tangy & delicious)
-Sweet potato fries (one of the best sweet potato fries I’ve had!)
-Scallop skewers
-Lomo saltodo Beef spring rolls (beef that melts in your mouth)
Service: Slow
What I loved:
-Sharing plates/tapas style concept.
-The Latin American art outside and inside the lounge.
What I didn’t love as much:
-Service (I felt like my waiter was slightly clueless, or could’ve been his first day…)
Bill for two: AED200
