On Call Stylist: Dry & Dash

Dry & Dash… Literally. Get your hair dried and head out. I booked in with Dry & Dash to come in to my hotel for a blow out. Perfect call for Salon blow outs at home. Easy bookings, they promise confirmations within 2 hours by their concierge team. I booked in before heading to New York City and got them to come to my hotel (works out so much better than getting one from the hotel too!) They do everything from a regular blow out to a haircut and bridal. A blow dry costs $60. Fast and Mia was fab (recommend her for bouncy volumous hair!) My hair was perfect with curls & volume for two days.

Celebrity Workout: The Class with TT

I’ve been reading all about Naomi Watts’ and maybe the whole of Manhattan’s favourite workout called ‘The Class’, a fitness method by the incredible, Taryn Toomey. I don’t think I’ve ever taken a class as physically and mentally challenging as this one. Based in Tribeca, the workout is a 75 minute mat-based, no equipment and includes Cardio, strength and yoga. Constantly wait-listed and literally jam packed that I thought I’d get kicks on my head several times during the class, as well as my neighbour’s water bottle falling down every few minutes – but it’s definitely worth being a part of this amazing session. An intense and full on workout aside, Taryn is not only beautiful, charming and inspirational – she has a kick ass personality that makes you want to be a part of her clique. I could tell many of the clients are regulars, and take this as a mental session as well as workout (everyone had fab toned bodies!) I left sweaty, happy and ready for the day – I highly recommend this!

The Soho blowout: Haute Air

If you’re in Soho and looking for a great salon for a blow out, check out Haute Air tucked away on Thompson Street. Cosy, chic with white chandeliers, the salon have a team of fab & talented stylists, Bumble and Bumble products with great reviews by top NYC titles. Affordable, with a vast range of services including blowouts, cuts, colour and perms to name a few. I tried them out for a quick blow out after a fitness class during my NYC trip and I was impressed. Make sure to ask for Joshua.

Full body workout: Bari Method

It’s easy to eventually get bored with your typical workout, so I’m constantly on the look out for cool new workouts. Whilst I was in NYC, I booked in for a class at one of NYC’s cool studios, Bari Studio in Tribeca. The urban boutique studio with brick walls have high cardio and muscle-sculpting classes ranging dance cardio, suspension toning to trampoline jumping. The best music all to achieve long lean muslces to a “Bari Body” Highly recommended – I was sweating – and I never sweat!

Hair & Nails: Fix Beauty Bar

For simultaneous hair and nails, you must check out Fix Beauty Bar.  Calling all the busy bees… this chic and clean salon is the ideal choice if you’d like to get your nails and hair done at one. Pampered with wine and a large vast of magazine choices, I got my hair washed followed by my seat (the square, the main area was full so I was taken to another seat). What I loved was the fact that everything was there so you felt super comfortable – the hairstylist has all her stuff, the nail technician has her section, the nail dryer was also there. I highly recommend this for a quick hair, mani and pedi session – and believe me you also feel relaxed and pampered on your way out. Super impresse with the Upper East side beauty spot.

PS. They might be opening in Dubai soon…

Cupcake ATM: Sprinkles

Who doesn’t love cupcakes and a dessert ATM? One of the first Cupcake bakeries from LA has expanded nationwide with ATM machines in LA, NYC and Chicago. If you’re in NYC, make sure to try it out and they do make one of the best cupcakes around!

Dance Cardio: Body Conceptions

I’ve never taken a Dance cardio class before, but it really is the hype in Hollywood and New York City at the moment – think Tracy Anderson and Simone de la Rue. Whilst I was in the city, I tried Body Conceptions, a method created by Mahri Relin. To give you a bit of background, Mahri worked with Tracy Anderson, as well as being the Creative Director at Flybarre before Kara Liotta. I took a Sunday class at Stepping Out studios in Chelsea with Erin – a super sweet instructor that made me feel at ease even though it was my first time. I loved how every song in the class was a completely different workout – which made sure I was never bored and kept me concentrating even on a Sunday morning. the 60 minute class consisted of Dance cardio (you don’t need to be a good dancer!) and sculpting workouts with different equipments – the movements were dynamic and really exhausted the muscles in order to not bulk up.

The music was great and my heartbeat was up for the full class. Perfect if you’re looking for that sculpted dancers body. If you’re heading to the Hamptons, Mahri will be teaching classes there this Summer!

$32 per class
