My Beauty Routine by Holly 'Hollywould' Williams, communications @ Symphony Style LLC.
This week, Holly ‘Hollywould’ Williams, who heads up communications at Symphony Style LLC in the UAE shares her beauty routine with myfashdiary.com.
-Beauty products I swear by…
I only use natural products and I’m a huge fan of French pharmacy lines like Bioderma and Avene and Australian skincare brands like Aesop and QV. Bioderma Crealine H20 cleanser every morning and night, QV moisturizing day cream with SPF 30 every morning, Avene Eye Contour Cream every night, Immediate Moisture Facial Hydrosol by Aesop on the beach and on planes, and Skinceuticals Serum 15 everyday under moisturizer.
-What’s in my make up bag:
I don’t wear a lot of make up, often, rather lazily, going without make up completely during the day. I favour a natural look with a red lip, or sometimes a false lash if I’m feeling extra fancy for a night out.
-Repechage Mineral & Vitamin Rich Complexion Perfection. Skincare and foundation in one. Unbelievable product.
-MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara – the best, I’ve tried them all!
-Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, essential and unbeatable
-Far too many red lipsticks, my favourites are Lady Danger and Russian Red by MAC.
-Lucas Papaw Ointment for lips, sunburn, eyes – everything! Natures answer to Vaseline.
-Sephora Blush Me Twice Bronzer & Blush Duo. Time saver.
-Laura Mercier Eyebrow Wax, essential as I am pretty much albino!
-Vitamin supplements you take
Omega 3 Supplements by Perricone MD & Echinacea around flu season
-Perfect detox juice mix
I love all kinds of juice. My favourites are the ones that usually turn other people off – ingredients like garlic, broccoli, spinach etc. The greener the better, go hard or go home!
-Favorite healthy dish
Hearty salads. I’m currently obsessed with this one I make that has quinoa, sweet potato, rocket, figs, low fat feta and thin fat-free beef or chicken. And I put lemon on everything. I start each morning with hot water and lemon, the best way to clean the system and get your metabolism going.
-Facialist/Dermatologist
I don’t really use one. I should probably start. I’m quite low key and low maintenance and I’ve always been quite lucky with my skin, I don’t really like the idea of people prodding around with it or layering on loads of different creams etc. I think the simpler the better to be honest.
-Fitness routine
To be completely honest, I’ve become quite lazy. I need to get back on the fitness wagon and back into the routine I had developed last year. I do enjoy long beach walks in the morning before picking up my coffee, such an absolute treat being British (no beach walks in the UK all year round! Brr!) – and it doesn’t feel like exercise. I am also so excited for Physique 57 to open in Dubai soon, my friend Camilla Skovgaard tells me great things and the lady responsible for bringing the concept to Dubai has a body to die for, there will be no excuses when Maryam launches her new studio soon.
-Skin/Body treatments you love
I’m a sucker for massages and reflexology. For massages I love the at-home service by Nailtastic (who do incredible nail art too), the massage involves stretching and its one of the best I’ve had in Dubai and I like that I can curl up in bed straight after. So amazing. For reflexology I think its best to find an authentic Chinese place, I went to one in Global Village recently and it was so cheap and second to none, there’s also a few good ones on the Plaza level in JBR where I live. Another treatment I love is the One & Only’s hammam, The Palace in Downtown also do a beautiful hammam treatment. At home I like to take a long hot bath and then cover myself in oil when still wet – either a lavendar oil, coconut oil or bio oil, such an easy and beneficial thing to do for your skin.
-Hair Miracle
I’ve recently started to do my hair at Sister’s Beauty Salon, my favourite salon in Dubai. Their washbasin treatments are incredible and I use Maje colours by Loreal, which are kinder to your hair than bleach and coupled with a toner, give the most beautiful blonde colour to my naturally fair hair. At home I always use leave in conditioners and coconut oil, I take good care of my hair.
-Key to feeling beautiful?
Sounds cheesy, but I really think doing things for others and trying to be the best person you can be. I always feel most beautiful when I have helped someone or been a good friend, sister or daughter. I’m an avid believer in beauty on the inside, and I am constantly trying to improve that – it’s the most important beauty to me.
