Introducing a local concept I recently came across for everyone, as this is perfect for doughnut lovers all the way to anyone that would like to bring their loved ones something original and special. Hailing from Abu Dhabi, Love Doughnuts have a spot at the WTC Mall, and make some of the best handmade doughnuts in the most interesting flavours. I recently tried several flavours from the Oreo white fudge, hazelnut cornflakes to Lime Elderflower cheesecake. The packaging is a whole different story, the doughnuts come in the most beautiful and luxurious monochrome print packaging. This is perfect for friend’s birthdays or even a little treat to make someone else’s day. Next question… when is it coming to Dubai?

Dental Clinic: My Dental Clinic

Having grown up in Dubai my whole life, there isn’t one dentist that I’m loyal to and highly recommend so I’m always on the look out for great ones. I recently went to visit My Dental Clinic, a new Scandinavian centre that opened up in Jumeirah. If you’re looking to see a dentist or even coming in for a hygiene session – I recommend you check them out. The spacious centre use a ton of high tech dental machines that make your life easier. I saw Dr. Eva Gorton for a hygiene appointment who was incredibly sweet and really talked me through what I need, as well as told me what I don’t need – which is always nice. They have a hygienist in the clinic but as it was her day off, Dr Eva kindly did it for me. The treatment which lasts up to an hour includes ultrasonic sound piezoled that removes tartare and calculus with the vibrations followed by the Prosphyflex, which removes stains and she ended up polishing with a paste. Great if you’re looking for a deep cleanse and getting some teeth stains removed.

Beauty: Gucci Beauty

Gucci Beauty is finally here & excited to hear one of my favourite regional make up artists, Kate Goodwin is the official make up artist. You know when something has taken long to launch, it’s going to be great. The black and gold packaging really feel luxe and on brand -they embossed Gucci print on the powders make them very difficult to overuse. (no one wants to ruin a Gucci print!) The collection includes eyeshadows, bronzers, liners, nails, lips as well as basic skincare – you name it. My personal favourites are the Gucci face bronzing powder in Caribbean Ochre, blush in Coral flower, Gucci eye impact longwear eye pencil in iconic black, and lipstick in nude satin.

Lingerie: Passionata

I love lingerie. There is something so special about having a piece that is just so beautiful and stays sacred in your wardrobe – not to mention is so on trend and (if you find a nice black one) looks pretty sexy under tops on night outs. I recently got introduced to Passionata, a French lingerie brand that is sexy, yet super adorable at the same time – with bright shades and hues. My favourite piece from the current collection would have to be the ‘Crush on You’ set.

Salon: Rami Jabali Salon

I can’t keep up with salons in Dubai but you really need to be doing your research, to find out all the good ones between the bunch. I recently visited Rami at Rami Jabali salon, and I’m quite shocked I’ve never been or heard about it before. Situated in JBR, Murjan building to be exact -your first time might be tricky to find! The salon itself is gorgeous and incredibly spacious, which is quite rare in the city. (they have everything from hair, Guinot facials to waxing and massages) Rami mentioned he specialises in colour and that’s what most of his loyal clients come in for (the salon was packed on a work day.) I came in to try an organic hair treatment (Rami uses organic products that are good for your hair – brands include So Pure and Goldwell) as well as a little trim for all those dry ends. After a wash on the cushiony shower chairs, I had the organic hair treatment applied onto all the strands of my hair, before being put under the steamer and got a haircut on dry hair. Left with my hair feeling healthy, soft and lifted (a good haircut always gives your hair a lift). Highly recommend the salon for cuts or a hydrating treatment.
