Workout: Sleek Technique

As you know… I’m a major barre addict. I recently learn about a barre company called Sleek Technique – run by two professional ballet dancers and lead a team of professional dancers that teach barre workouts. All the classes take part online – imagine a class on Skype. Pretty amazing. Perfect for travelers, the concept which was launched in March 2013 have several classes a day, and is super affordable – you can buy packages where classes could cost you £4. I loved the fact that I was given modifications and corrections, and ended up with a workout in my own room. Genius… Art of Technology.

To book a class, click here & follow them on twitter & instagram @sleektechnique

Candy: Sugarpova at IT Sugar

Good news! Maria Sharapova’s candy range has arrived to Dubai at IT Sugar! I recently tried the Sporty lemon gumboils. So good, and perfect to keep in jars when you’re hosting friends for a game night! Make sure to check out their store at Mall of the Emirates in front of VOX cinemas.

Camera: Canon PowerShot N

Looking for your next Camera buy? I recently got my hands on the brand new Canon Power shot N – tiny, light and barely has buttons on it. I’ve broken down what I loved, and didn’t love so much about the camera. Here’s what I liked and didn’t like so much:

+ Tiny, easy to carry.

+ Doesn’t scratch easily.

+Wi-fi. A friend liked a picture? send it over then and there. (could be a good or bad thing…)

-It took me a week to learn the buttons  even though I’m constantly buying new cameras.

Workout clothes: 2XU

I always struggle with finding workout clothes in Dubai and tend to pick up pieces at Lululemon whenever I’m in NYC. I was recently introduced to 2XU, which is distributed by Sport in Life and have a large selection of styles and colours for different sports. Personally, I love their singlets in dark colours and cycle pants.

Swimwear: D.Hedral

It’s Summer season so it’s all about stocking up on great swimwear. I was recently introduced to a cool technology within a swimwear brand, D.Hedral who have come out with Anglefit swimwear which gives your button the maximum support, whilst also gives your butt the tailored fit for a sexy curve. They ship worldwide, and have a great chart that shows your fit before ordering. I ordered mine in a dark olive color. Time for the beach this weekend… Shop them here.

Emarati Heritage: Sougha at Virgin Megastores

Whenever I have guests that come visit me in Dubai and want to leave with Emarati handmade treasures, I always end up taking them to the Souqs or Arabic food. Virgin Megastore recently started stocking non profit fashion brand, Sougha. Launched by Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development aimed at creating opportunities for unemployable or difficult to employ Emaratis with Entrepreneurial potential. The pieces, which include pouches and notebooks are created by skilled local crafts men and women across the UAE. All Sougha sales income are returned to the artisans, and the surplus is used to train new artisans. Beautiful brand…
