Restaurant Review: PI. Dubai
Ideal for… wholesome Italian food in the city
Restaurant name and location: PI. at The Dubai Mall, Dubai UAE
Cuisine: Authentic Italian
Atmosphere: A gorgeous space that looks like an Italian backyard garden. It was quiet on a weekday afternoon, but to keep in mind – the restaurant just opened. The restaurant was designed by the same man behind the Voss bottle, David Irvin.
What they say: A gourmet eatery serving contemporary Italian soul food, the restaurant reimagines authentic Italian dishes and creates signature Neapolitan-inspired pizzas by marrying old-world traditions with a modern Dubai take.
What to order:
-Gnudi (Ricotta dumplings)
-Kale Ceasar salad (This was delicious – the buttermilk dressing and fresh dough instead of croutons finishes this off perfectly.
-The Pizza of course, my favorite was the potato pizza! The Pizza dough is made out of 4 ingredients – Fresh yeast, sea salt, flour and water – then they let it rise for two days. (The potato pizza includes burrata, feta and fried lemon)
-Pistachio cake for dessert, which was lovely and rich
-The lemon tart was also a very fresh and a good dessert choice.
Service: Super sweet staff that were knowledgable on their dishes and even recommended their favorites, which is always nice. Co-founder, Rami was also helping at the restaurant which is always nice.
What I loved:
-A homegrown concept to come out of the UAE by the same people behind The Pizza Guys – Amber Haque and Rami Badawi.
-The restaurant’s concept is the dough and you can really see why, when you taste their own home made croutons, pizza, and dumplings.
-The serve organic season vegetables as well as antibiotic and hormone-free meats.
-The name PI is named after Pizza pie.
Bill for two:
AED150
