If you follow the fashion industry and don’t know about Cambridge satchel Company bags… my question for you is, which planet have you been living in? The Cambridge satchel bags took fashion week by storm, followed by the blogging world by storm and soon followed with the whole world by storm. Those neon bags are everywhere, which is why I had to introduce a new shade to my wardrobe!

I was eager to speak to Julie Deane, the founder as Cambridge bags were never looked at as a fashion statement and are pretty much bags with so much heritage. Nowadays, a lot of new brands have come out with a line of satchels because they have become a trend where as Camsatchelco was created before this trend even started! With the attention from press and retailers such as ASOS, Harvey Nichols and others – The bags are now everywhere with their stockists growing rapidly! We spoke about how her company started up, how the idea of fluo satchels came up and blogs!

I recently popped over to the Mulberry Headquarters in London to have a closer look at the Fab collection as I ended up missing the show this season. Firstly, obsessed with their new headquarters – possibly one of the best in the industry. and the collection? super fab. They have expanded with several new styles and lots of great new styles you should be saving up for next season! Check out my favorites above.

Gourmet popcorn, with the most original and interesting flavors! They have a range of flavors depending on your craves and tastes. The popcorn is also the ‘finest air popped corn’ and defines the word ‘Gourmet popcorn’. Overall, one of the best popcorns I’ve had… and I’ve had a lot.

-Strawberry Cheesecake: It sounded super interesting but I thought it would either taste perfect and original or artificially wrong. Verdict? tastes heavenly. It reminded me a little of captain crunch mixed with caramel in the most perfect way possible.

-Goats cheese: The taste is quite strong – great for people who love Goats cheese. however, I think I will stick to Cheddar cheese

-Salted caramel: one of my favorites, obsessed with anything caramel…

If you follow me on twitter, you would have been following my day yesterday with the lovely Amber Atherton (Founder of Myflashtrash/Models1 /Made in Chelsea to name a few…) I spent the day with Amber as we got red carpet ready in time to head to the worldwide premiere of Snow white and the Huntsman in the eve! Enjoy the photo diary…

12pm: Ralph Lauren Fittings – This was even more exciting as we had a play around with their Vintage archives. Vintage is always a great choice for the red carpet, original with an unexpected dress choice. Amber ended up going for a dreamy off white one (great choice, Amber!)

1:30pm: off to the My flash trash HQ – always love heading there for a play around with the jewels on the infamous bright pink couch! we picked our jewels aka the finishing touch to any red carpet outfit.

4pm: Time to get ready & in order to leave Amber’s home in time for the red carpet.

In between – we were quite early so we roamed around China town in red carpet dresses (as one does, of course…)

6pm – Red Carpet time! spotted Liberty Ross, Kristen Stewart & Charlize Theron – who all looked immaculate.

7pm – Perfect way to end the night with a FAB movie… idea for this weekend? watch Snow White, one of my favorites this month!

I recently popped by to check out Tommy Guns’ new salon on Regent street – based in the lower ground floor of Superdry. Great location as it is based between Oxford circus station and Picadilly circus, so super easy to get to! The salon is probably the coolest looking hair salon I have come across… looks like a retro barber style salon. Super spacious, and cool staff too! I was booked in for an appointment with the Stylist, Kim for a hair cut and finish (really needed a good trim!) I am obsessed with magazines, so I love a good salon with a great range of magazines. They had publications from Wonderland, ID to Vogue. Most of the products they use instore are by Tommy Guns, which I personally use and love (however, they do use a few Red ken ones too). Kim was great, not only was she kind, and hospitable – she also was great about listening and understanding what I wanted, and shared some tips she suggested. Left happy with my blowdry ready hair and a fab new hair cut. They are all about fashion forward looks, so I definitely suggest you all check it out – whether it’s for hair or nails!

On My Plate: Prêt-à-Portea, Berkeley by MFD’s Food ed, Tamara Samman

Prêt-à-Portea – “A Fashionista’s Afternoon Tea”.  Afternoon teatime at the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge, London sounds so surreal.  The exciting thing about this teatime experience in particular is not just because you’re enjoying it at a posh venue, but because of the “fashionista twist” of which it boasts.  Starting off with a choice from a selection of appealing types of teas amongst them being fruit infusions, pear caramel or even a satisfying chocolate mint truffle tea – just to name a few!  We decided to be a little less daring and enjoyed Herbal Infusion teas of Wild Blossom, as well as a Fresh Mint.  The teas were fresh, rich and perfect to warm you up after a long day.

The mouthwatering selected tea sandwiches were more than just appetizing as they satisfied our taste buds through the different flavors of coronation chicken, egg salad on a mini bun, caramelized onion on a brown toast bread, salmon tuna, crab, cream cheese and mozzarella on a sundried toast bread.

Next was when it got a whole lot more exciting.  The Spring/Summer collection 2012 desserts were presented to us on a 3-tier display stand.  The maître explained each delicate and creative dessert with the help of a catalogue, which resembled the latest catwalk designs of the season.  These desserts were fashion forward and ranged from delish types of mousse, biscuits, cheesecakes and moist cakes.  The designer resembled desserts included Dolce & Gabbana, Jason Wu, Mulberry, Valentino and Christian Louboutin, and more!  On the display stand, there was also a variety of flavorful taster spoons of chilli beef and peanut roulade, and creamed feta mousse ad quince jelly.

It is recommended to do booking at least 3 days in advance! – this could be done online or over the phone.

Perfect for: Definitely a great place to meet over the love of fashion or a sisters day out (which is what we did!)

Fun Facts:

From the 29th of May to the 9^th of June 2012, Berkeley will be celebrating the Diamond Jubilee in noble style with the launch of Prêt-à-Portea.  The Royal Collection will include fancies, biscuits and choux buns that have been altered to look like the most memorable hats that are worn by the Royal Family.

£39 – No alcohol (includes teas/coffees, Berkeley tea sandwiches, Spring/Summer collection 2012 desserts)

£49 – same as above but with a glass of Laurent Perrier

£14 for an additional glass

I do get a lot of formspring questions on where to find chic specs & to be honest, we are quite lucky – I tend to spot a lot of great ones quite frequently. I wear specs on the computer and at the movies as I do get headaches after 8 hours on the computer (not exactly healthy…) but that is what happens when you are in your last term of university which means lots of hours on photoshop, indesign, powerpoint on word and not to mention, I also have a blog that is updated 3 times daily (poor eyes!)
