Five Favorite Beauty Buys: August 2018

Moisturizer: Dior Capture Youth age-delay advanced creme

I’m actually loving this moisturizer at the moment, and didn’t know I could really love a moisturizer as much. Been using this one by Dior – mostly at night, and occasionally during the day. Concentrated in Iris extract, it has antioxidants in it to delay ageing – and hydrates the skin and gives it a supple finish.

Foundation: Benefit Hello Happy soft blur foundation

I’ve been avoiding foundations a lot more now, and going for things that make my skin, look like ‘skin’. Must say, this wins as one of my favorite Benefit products so far. Even though, I would probably consider it a day time foundation, I personally have been wearing it at night because I love the natural looking, soft blur matte finish it gives. Blends perfectly into the skin (it has a water texture), and it makes me forget I’m wearing any foundation.

Lips: HudaBeauty Lip contour in Wifey

You’ll mostly see me in a nude matte lip, and nothing else. If I want a very natural finish, I usually only wear a lipliner all over my lips, and even if I wear a liquid lipstick, I make sure I have lipliner all over my lip underneath to keep it lasting. I’ve been wearing the Wifey shade from Huda Beauty’s lipliner range. A beige-nude shade, almost makes it look like you’re not wearing anything on your lips.

Base: Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter

I don’t even know how to describe this, but it’s a magic potion in a bottle. I can’t really explain this product, except for it being very different to anything else on the market. I can use this by itself (which I mostly do) and on night outs, I use this instead of a primer. It has blurring effects, while still adding a glow – so you get that clear luminous finish. Favorite Charlotte Tilbury product so far.

Bronzer: Marc Jacobs O!MEGA bronze

One of my favorite bronzers this summer – I adore how large it is, how it smells like coconuts (summer lovin’) and how the shade is matte, and is universally flattering. Marc Jacobs loves coconut water, and this bronzer is part of the coconut water inspired limited edition collection that also includes a coconut gel highlighter (that I mentioned this month), a primer and loose powder.
