Ideal for… an LA hotspot in Dubai – with great food, service and space.
Restaurant name and location: Catch, Fairmont Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road
Cuisine: Contemporary with a focus on seafood
Atmosphere: When Catch opened, it used to be one of the most happening spots in the city. The restaurant is currently going for a revamp, which will hopefully pick up a better crowd.
What they say: Catch Dubai is located inside the iconic Fairmont Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road. The contemporary restaurant successfully fuses great food, service and an exceptional scene which appeals to the tastes of today’s modern diner. Catch Dubai incorporates influences from a myriad of regions where seafood is central to the culinary culture. CATCH’s staggered, shareable style of dining caters to the varied palates of its international and well-heeled clientele. Such courses known for its elevated renditions of classic dishes include the tableside torched CATCH Roll, Bourbon-Miso Sea Bass Lettuce “Wraps” and the Gold label Wagyu Beef Surf n Turf Skewers.

What to order:
-Wagyu on the rock (you cook your own wagyu the way you like it – with the yuzu soy and garlic oil)
-Short rib tacos (super flavorful, a great starter and melts in your mouth)
-Chicken lettuce cups (chicken, hoisin sauce and sweet potato crunchy – light and perfect) -Korean fried chicken bao (slightly spicy, but probably the best chicken bao I’ve had)-Short rib (48 hour hoisin braised – you won’t need a knife to cut this)
-Pecan pie: Chef Bobby’s grandma’s recipe except he uses a brown butter cake instead of pie and the butter pecan ice cream on the side was perfection.
-S’mores pizza (a Catch signature)
-‘Hit me’ chocolate cake (so good – a mix of devil’s food cake, brownie and white chocolate ice cream)

Service: Our server, Brandon was great at recommendations, super sweet – and handsome.

What I loved:
-The toilets: One of the most gorgeous and photogenic toilets – there’s also a boxing bag in there!
-Old school Rnb/hip hop music by DJ Crown Prince on Thursday and Fridays.
-The cocktails and their cheeky names – my favorites are the pearl necklace and the dirty bastard.

Bill for two: AED700
