Restaurant Review: Bombay Bungalow, Dubai

Ideal for… comfort Indian food with a quirk
Restaurant name and location: Bombay Bungalow, at JBR The Beach
Cuisine: Indian
Atmosphere: With all the restaurants at JBR The Beach, I was pretty impressed that Bombay Bungalow was pretty much full – with at least half being Indians, which is always a good thing.
What they say: We are a homegrown brand created to fulfill the craving for good quality Modern Indian food. Our influence was taken from the traditional Indian recipes and developed into a unique and contemporary menu; a twist to the classics. Our intention was to upgrade the dishes and make the cuisine more approachable and inviting to the melting pot that are the residents and tourists of the UAE.

We have created an ambience that is unique and inviting – a place that feels like home; whilst simultaneously enhancing Indian cuisine’s universal appeal.

What to order:
-Veg samosas (a must)
-Buratta Butter Chicken (exactly what it sounds like – loved it)
-Harissa Chicken tikka (melts in your mouth)
-Naans (the garlic and cheese especially – the dough was on point)
-Biryani bowl (they have quite a variety from veg to beef, we got the chicken one)

Service: The staff were super sweet, and the manager was great with helping us with our order.

What I loved:
-The interiors: just wow. The whole restaurant is a tongue in cheek play on Indian traditions, still keeping the vibrance of the culture.
-The presentation of the food: We were stuffed by the second set of mains, but everything looked too good to not eat.
-Favorite with Indians: You know a spot is good when their own people are dining there!

Bill for two: AED250
