Tattoo Removal 101

As I just got my first tattoo this year, I was intrigued to learn about the process behind removing a tattoo. Spoke to my skin guru, aesthetician Rebecca Treston from Euromed on the full process, how painful it really is – and the results to expect.

We all make decisions in life that we end up regretting, and for many of us a hastily chosen tattoo can soon become a problem that just won’t go away! Whether it be a youthful interest that we have grown out of, badly designed artwork, or even a break-up gone bad, an unwanted tattoo can cause embarrassment and force us to cover up our skin. For so long the only solution to this problem was expensive and painful surgery, but no more! Rebecca Treston offers the chance to remove those regrettable tattoos with none of the pain or complications.

“Using one of the most innovative and non-ablative skin perfecting lasers, it is now possible to painlessly remove colour tattoos whilst causing no peripheral skin damage. It truly is amazing technology!
The benefits of choosing an Evo laser treatment for your tattoo removal are numerous. First of all, it is fast acting. Thanks to its state-of-the-art photo-acoustical technology the colour ink of the tattoos break down in only minutes! For the best results, I would recommend 6-14 laser removal sessions (dependent on the size and colour of the tattoo), although this amazing treatment does begin to show results immediately. With each treatment session lasting only 5-15 minutes, and recovery time only 1-2 days, there is no need to worry about long interruptions to your day-to-day life, which means there is little downtime. Best of all, the Evo laser tattoo removal requires no use of anaesthetic, and therefore has lower risks of complications than more traditional forms of tattoo removal.

As amazing as the results of the laser treatment are, for the complete removal of an unwanted tattoo aftercare is essential. While the laser breaks down the ink, it is up to your own body to flush out those ink particles. The healthier you are, the more efficient your body will be. I would recommend keeping the treated area dry and clean, hydrating yourself regularly, and wearing SPF sunscreen when outdoors in order for the tattoo removal process to work to its full potential. If you are looking for a fast, efficient, and most importantly pain-free way to get rid of any unwanted tattoos, then the Evo laser is the treatment for you. Basically, if your bad tattoo has become a burden, the Evo laser can help you put the past behind you and help you regain the skin you thought was lost.”
