Ideal for… taking out some guests to a steak dinner at a fancy hotel
Restaurant name and location: The Hide, Al Qasr Hotel Dubai
Cuisine: Steakhouse/American
Atmosphere: relaxed during the week for lunch, typically with local ladies on a table on one side and tourists on the other.
What they say: The Hide brings a modern twist to the Dubai culinary scene and serves up a fresh take on American cuisine. The concept has been inspired by the coolest modern meateries in gastronomic capitals such as New York, Chicago and LA.
Fronted by renowned British chef Nick Cuadrado, recognised as one of the city’s most creative culinary artists, the meatery boasts an authentic, modern, rustic feel with stone, wood, slate and vintage glass, while the menu provides classic comfort food steeped in American culture and transformed with unique meatery twists.

What to order:
Vintage cheddar salad (chicory, sweet and sour walnuts and apple cider dressing)
Hanger steak (with caramelized onion)
Buttermilk onion rings (delicious, doughy)
Heritage carrots, golden raisins and truffle honey
B&b lobster roll (brioche was great, my partner said they would have preferred less mayo)
Campfire S’mores
Pumpkin pie with condensed milk

Service: The staff were sweet, but the food took way too long.

What I loved:
-The modern steakhouse menu with interesting ingredients and true American desserts.
-They bake their breads in-house and they are delicious (just make sure you like duck fat)
Bill for two: AED400
