Five Favorite Beauty Buys - May 2016

Toner: Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic
A few years ago, I’d buy the products we don’t have in the UAE on my travels but over the past year, I have a handful of e-commerce stores that I use to get my hands on these, and Cult Beauty is one of my favorites (they are the exclusive UK stockist for Huda Beauty too!). I don’t use toners on a daily basis, but if my skin needs a refresher throughout the day, instead of cleansing my skin for the third time that day, I like to use a toner. As this one from Pixi has 5% glycolic (alongside aloe vera and ginseng), this makes it a gentle acid toner and helps resurface the skin to make it look brighter with a glow.
(Available at Cult Beauty)

Moisturizer: Chanel Hydra Beauty Flash Perfecting Balm
When it comes to face moisturizers, I’m incredibly picky because I need something light on the skin. That being said, I also have a small selection of flash balms, which I use when my skin is dehydrated or after I travel because it gives it an instant glow. This moisturizer includes active ingredients like camelia and blue ginger alongside shea butter and moringa butter. This is definitely something I’d throw into my travel bag!

Body: Body Cream by Frank Body
I love Frank Body – it’s cool, fun and the ingredients are insane. I use a lot of products from the brand, but the body cream is one of my new favorites. Thick, but not too thick, it includes ingredients such as sweet almond, shea butter, coconut oil, grape seed oil, green tea and pomegranate. It smells like sugar icing and feels so good on the skin.

Cleansing Water: Garnier Micellar Cleansing water
The supermarket version of Bioderma, I tend to use this when I’m feeling lazy, instead of my face wipes, or if I’m doing a double cleanse, where I use this as my first. Fragrance free, it works on all skin types including sensitive ones. It really does the job, and will last you a while. Definitely an essential.

Illuminator: Le Maquillage professionnel Luminizing Highlight palette by Julia Carta
I am a sucker for illuminators, and I especially love professional make up because you know it’s going to last and that the pigment is going to be great. I love this illuminating palette as my base illuminator. It comes in a range of shades, but I use the copper and light gold the most. The palette is also quite thin, so it doesn’t take much space and you don’t end up having to carry a ton of illuminator shades. Available here
