Travel Find: La Roca Village Outlet in Barcelona, Spain

November 10
Comments

I recently flew out with Value Retail for the Barcelona Designers Collective at La Roca Village. Barcelona Designers Collective is a platform to support independent designs with a commercial vision – to help young talents get out there. The collective showcased different designers from the city’s creations at a pop up shop between 28th September and 8th November. The goal of the Barcelona Designers collection is to discover, promote and support emerging talent. The brands that showcased were Alex Trochut, Brosmind, Andreu Carulla, Bussoga, Olend, Paloma Wool, Txel Miras, Martina Pont and others.

Barcelona Designers Collective is part of an international project by the Village Collection in Europe, which has seen successful editions in Fidenza Village (Milan), Bicester Village (London) and La Roca Village (Barcelona). The village itself is under the Value Retail group, who have outlet villages in China, and all over Europe. It really is magical – think the Disney land of Outlets (you’ll know what I mean when you get there). It’s super clean, beautiful and minimal. La Roca Village is right outside Barcelona, and can attract up to 20,000 people on a good day.

Heading the panel at the launch, is Fern (the woman who is best known for launching New York Fashion Week) was brought on board to consult – especially as she is known for helping up and coming young designers and nurturing emerging talent. She also consults for fashion weeks around the world.

If you’re ever in Spain or the Barcelona area, I highly suggest you spend a day at La Roca Village – it’s a must visit. Home to all the main brands from Gucci, Dolce, Burberry to cooler young ones like Maje, Sandro and Furla. They also have a wide range of F&B from Starbucks, a sushi bar and restaurants. One of the collection of villages by Value retail, they have over 130 boutiques of Spanish and international brands (My personal favorites were Missoni, Nike and Aristocrazy). You can save up to 60% off retail prices and they offer VIP services such as personal shoppers and the shopping express, which is a daily coach service.
Enjoy the photo diary from my trip!
