Restaurant Review: Buddha Bar, Dubai

Ideal for… A lounge night out in the Marina area – drinks and a light dinner.

Restaurant name and location: Buddha Bar, Grosvenor House Hotel in Dubai
Cuisine: Asian fusion
Atmosphere: Even though it was a full house, the dimly lit global lounge felt very intimate with a background sound of a chilled Buddha bar soundtrack.
What they say: The Buddha-Bar is legendary, its awesome spectacle instantly promising guests an evening of pure theatre and pure pleasure.
One of Dubai’s hottest hot-spots, Buddha Bar promises evenings of unsurpassed experiences. To the sensual sound of chill-out music, guests can luxuriate in a menu inspired by the cuisines of Thailand, China and Japan, with fresh seasonal ingredients from Arabia.

What to order:
-Sushi (they make some really good Sushi, and they’re quite small so they don’t stuff you, whist it being easy to eat)
-Buddha Bar chicken salad (their signature. make sure to order)
-Chicken Green Curry (Always a classic choice)
-Chocolate Foundant (one of the best, gooey and fudgy)
-Sorbet (I was craving sorbet and they ended the meal perfectly, order the lemon and mango)

Service: Excellent. Our waiter, Maharoof was amazing and very alert!

What I loved:
-The place is just so impressive. It’s huge and just beautiful with a big Buddha in the centre of the restaurant.
-The music – I can’t think of a better place that plays lounge music than Buddha Bar.

What I didn’t love as much:
-I really loved the place overall, but felt like the spring rolls could be better, and the beef tenderloin could have been less chewy and more tender.

Bill for two: AED500
