MUSIC:
Redfest Music Festival
One of the Middle East’s biggest music festival is back for 2015, and I must say bigger than ever. Festival sets during the two day event feature Iggy Azalea, The Script, Kid Ink, Bastille, Jeremiah and Tinashe to name a few – ending with a party each evening with DJ sets from Wilkinson and Gorgon City. Not only is this going to be a great concert/festival/party, Redfest are supporting and showcasing fresh talent as well as a great selection of street food and installations. Super cool concept and the perfect weekend plan for Feb! Tickets are selling out, they’re available at www.redfestdxb.com

TEA:
Have a Quintessential British afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason Dubai
I love afternoon tea but don’t end up doing it unless I’m with family because it always seems so ‘grown up’ and formal. I was very excited to hear that the famed historic tea room from the UK, Fortnum & Mason opened in Dubai (Downtown by The Address to be exact). A 3 story space, with an outdoor terrace that faces the Burj Khalifa – they serve everything from Breakfast, main course dishes to afternoon tea. I took my mom for some mother daughter time, so we went for the afternoon tea. We went for one set of the traditional afternoon tea and one set of their savoury tea. Instead of including the typical sweet scones and jam, they changed that up with cheddar and walnut scones, and instead of the cakes, they went for main course bites. Personally, having a sweet tooth myself, I preferred the traditional kind. With a side of their vast selection of teas or coffee, finger sandwiches included egg and mustard cress, rare roast beef, coronation chicken to cucumber with mint butter. The scones, which were one of my favourites (especially the raisin one!) comes jam and clotted cream and topped off with little cakes – however my favourite was an individual slice of the Battenberg cake. Also make sure to order the lemonade with mint, incredibly refreshing!
I’ll definitely be back to try the Breakfast and the ice cream parlour!

LEARN:
Take a Flight Academy class at Bounce
Bounce is one of those places that you’re always going to have a good time at. However overtime, all you want to do is learn yourself a few tricks on the trampoline. I’ve never been able to flip, cartwheel and do all those cool stuff… so all I really do at Bounce is jump (and obviously take their Bouncefit classes). When I heard that they started offering Flight Academy classes – a one on one coaching session, I knew I had to check it out for myself. Even thought I had a gruelling experience getting this booked in, I had a great session with Cris – who is a five-time Spanish National trampolining champion, as well as being the coach of the Belgian gymnastics steam. I started the hour telling I can’t do most of the things he showed me, and taking baby steps, I left having learnt one trick. If you’re someone that wants to push on your tricks and skills, I suggest you try a few classes with Cris – a great way to also learn stunts safely.

THERAPY:
Order a Curated box from The Box Therapy
I’m really really loving Box Therapy – the concept and the goodies that come inside. Personally I feel like it encourages you to be a better person, learn new things, discover new things in your city and experience something new. The inspiration of the box was me-time – something that is so difficult to find yet so crucial. The box included a journal called My 2015 journey – a place to write down thoughts, feelings and ideas on paper, Skullcandy headphones to get lost in the music, a ‘Love your life’ book with powerful messages and quotes, a foot peal and hand repair to treat and pamper your hands and feet, a lip tint by Figs & Rouge, knock knock sticky notes that are so fun and ended with Christmas tags and scotch tape incase you were in the middle of putting together christmas gifts! Incredibly cool concept.

DRINK:
Ladies night at Cielo Sky lounge
One of my favourite outdoor lounges in the city, Cielo have a ladies night every Tuesday – perfect chilled atmosphere from the DJ booth, ladies get free cocktails from 8pm-12am or unlimited bubbly at AED50 and have some lovely dishes you can snack on. A classy choice in my opinion, with beautiful views of the Dubai Creek whilst being lit up in blue lights.. My personal recommendations would be the juicy sliders, truffle fries and churros. They also have some of the loveliest staff – extra points!
