Restaurant Review: Asia Asia, Dubai

Comments Subcategorized in:

Ideal for… A night out over drinks and delicious Asian food.

Restaurant name and location: Asia Asia at Pier 7, Dubai Marina
Cuisine: Pan-Asian
Atmosphere: Full house, lounge atmosphere
What they say: Inspired by renowned restaurateurs Dean and Geremy Lucas’ renowned Spice Market in Melbourne, Asia Asia restaurant & lounge is the most highly anticipated venue to open its doors in Dubai this year.
The lavish Asia Asia takes its inspiration from the ancient Spice Route travelled by traders of old, and has been exquisitely furnished to reflect this famous journey from Asia Minor through to the Far East.

What to order:
Edamame with Himalayan Pink Salt
Shawarmaki (didn’t taste much like shawarmas, but nonetheless enjoyed it!)
Dim Sum Basket (3 different selections from prawn, beef and vegetables)
Thai Calamari with ’12 Spices’ & Coriander Nam Pla Dip (incredibly salty, incase you don’t love salts)
Chicken Wings with Grilled Lime
Sweet Potato with Kabayaki Sauce & Truffle Labneh (a must order, loved the truffle labneh addition)
Fried Rice
Valrhona Chocolate Fondant with Home Made Vanilla Ice Cream. (delicious.)

Service: The manager, Veronica was incredibly accommodating.

What I loved:
-The interiors including the Buddhas and bird cages were amazing, reminded me of Tao in NYC but even better!
-The terrace view – the weather was perfect and the view of the Marina was just incredible.
-They have a range of Japanese, Chinese and Malayasian dishes, satisfied any Asian crave.
-The toilets – super cute and loved the ‘Geishas’ and ‘Samurais’ labels on the door.

What I didn’t love as much:
-The truffle creme brûlée dessert, just tasted odd for a sweet dish.

Bill for two: AED300
