Chic Stay: Le Meurice Hotel, Paris
What: Hotel Le Meurice, Paris (part of the Dorchester Group)
Where: Rue De Rivoli by the Tuileries – very central, just around Rue St. Honore and the Louvre.
The Rooms: Parisian rooms are generally not spacious, but I wouldn’t call my room tight. Everything was royal and rich with high ceilings – felt like a building from the past yet nothing looked crusty.
The Bed: They aren’t on my top list of hotel beds, but definitely comfortable and cosy enough for a good sleep.
The Toilets: White & grand with a shower and bath tub and the toiletries are by English perfume house, Penhaligon’s.
The Breakfast: They don’t have a buffet, but they have choices of everything from English breakfast, American Breakfast to a healthy breakfast option. You are treated like a royal… and the Breakfast room has got to be the most beautiful one I’ve ever set eyes on. I recommend the Egg white omelette with emmental cheese and mushrooms. They also have one of the best chocolate croissants!
The Food (restaurants & bars): They have a bar and an Alain Ducasse restaurant at the hotel.
Minibar: They have their own branded Le Meurice containers with candy, m&m’s and nuts as well as a range of bars from Fitness cereal, Pringles to Oreo’s and Mikado. For beverages, they had everything all the way to Iced tea, Voss & Evian water as well as Vitamin water. Love the variety.
Pool, Spa & Gym:
They have a Valmont Spa that I didn’t have the time to check out, as well as a gym with Technogym machines. No Swimming pool.
Price: Starts at 735EUROS/night. My room cost 950EUROS/night.
Extra points:
+The whole hotel is very grand and regal – everything from the intricate lobby to the uniforms of the doormen and concierge.
+A box of Macarons with a welcome note from Guest relations was left in my room. Love a good welcome.
+If you like celebrity watching, this is one for you.
+The service is ace – whether housekeeping, reception, restaurants etc.
