Paris Fashion Week S/S'14 Diary: Day Two

October 11
Comments Subcategorized in:

Show: Roland Mouret S/S’14

Venue: Place Vendome, Paris

The Collection: Not your typical Roland Mouret collection. More fierce, with attitude this season in relation to the signature ladylike look we’re used to.

Inspiration: The Palais Royale in Paris that Roland personally loves. He describes it as ‘a place full of chaos yet at peace.’

Trends: Stripes, whites, Color block, boxy jackets and Mirrored sunglasses.

Extras:

-Roland left a message for everyone in his show card, which felt like a special touch.

-The artistic director of the show was Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou

Bionda Castana Pre Spring/Summer ’14

I then popped over to Bionda Castana’s showroom to check out the Pre Spring/Summer ’14 collection. Bionda Castana, a UK based shoe label (Me & My mom collaborated with the brand early this year for a ‘Lina’ & ‘Tala’ shoe) and have been obsessed with the brand ever since. It was great to catch up with one of the two BC girls, who is also a woman I love – Natalia Barbieri, and check out the collection. The brand has signature shoes they bring out every season, ones they carry over from the last season, and new ones for the season. Bionda Castana also collaborate with designers for runway pieces, and smaller brands for a few pairs or a capsule. Check out a few of my favourites above.

Show: Anne Valerie Hash S/S’14

Venue: Anne Valerie Hash’s atelier in Paris.

Atmosphere: Instead of the usual Fashion show seating, the seating at AVH was more of a stage like seating. To add innovation, Anne Valerie added a digital element which I’ve never seen before – once anyone flashes a picture at the looks on the runway, the reflective jersey reflects and you got a shot on the large screen.

The Collection: ‘Futuristic yet feminine’

Trends: Jumpsuits, sweat shirts, and sporty jersey.
