On My Plate: Leila's, Dubai.

Arabic food is something I crave quite frequently. I recently headed to Leila’s restaurant for dinner with my girls after a flywheel session (super close to Flywheel around Burj Views) I love how the restaurant’s branding is super quirky and fun – It has a sense of Middle Eastern Art and Culture. The atmosphere is always buzzing, and is one of those places that is great for a full fledged ‘mashawi’ dinner, or just shisha and a cocktail. We were taken care of as soon as we arrived & the manager made sure to check if everything was ok during our meal.

What we ordered:

-Garlic cheese rolls: You have a choice of grilled and fried, both are great but go for Grilled if you want to save on a few calories 🙂

-Hommos & Meat: My favorite kind of Hommos with oven ready bread… yum.

-Fattet Magdous: Delicious, they also have a great eggplant one too.

-Mashawi: A platter of grilled chicken, lamb and meat with dollops of Garlic.

-Osmaillet Leila: We tried several desserts, but this was pretty and super interesting. It included crispy vermicelli with rose and pistachio ice cream in between.

-Ghazal Beirut: This has got to be my favorite dessert. I would definitely drop over to just have this dessert. The dessert includes musk ice cream (arabic ice cream) with toasted sweet flour (which looks like hair) and topped with pistachio crumbles.

PS the menu has a ton of variety so I suggest you visit, try out your favorite dishes. I heard they have great breakfasts too…
