NYFW Fall '13: Tommy Hilfiger

One of my favorite shows during New York Fashion week, and one I was look forward to – Tommy Hilfiger.  The show took place at the historic Park Avenue Armory, with heavy searches. It was my first Tommy show, and I was the only Middle Eastern representative to head backstage (which was super exciting). The venue was spectacular, and beautiful. It was definitely an experience seeing everything come alive, and the calm before the storm. I also spotted Tommy checking out the final walk before the show.

Heading backstage, everything was organized, but the backstage buzz was still there (Of course, it’s a Tommy show.) Top models such as Cara Delevigne, Jourdan Dunn, Ruby Aldridge & Tommy’s face, Jacquelyn Jablonski walked the runway. The hair and make up was simple, all american prep. The hair was blowdried lightly straight down with a middle parting, and the make up was light, with a pale pink hint on the eyes and lips.

In terms of the actual collection, The brand’s theme for the season was ‘Savile Row meets Ivy League’, which made me think of English tailoring meets preppy and that is exactly what it was.  Backstage, the models were getting prepped for an all American look, and college inspired clothing. The venue was made to look Hogwarts like. Think Sartorial prep – college scarves, black-and-white houndstooth, knit caps, sporty pea coat, knee-high boots and traditional kilts.

Enjoy the coverage from the evening above…
