I recently headed over to my favorite spa, Cleopatras (which I don’t visit as often as it is quite far from where I live) but this time, there was a bigger reason for me to trek further… I was off to meet Elemis’s International trainer, Emer Gillen – who was in town (Dubai) for two weeks to train staff, and I was going to get to experience a treatment from the woman herself. Emer has been in the spa industry for more than 10 years, and has been working with Elemis for just over 7.

I firstly met Emer for a consultation at the spa, and we spoke about her experience, as well as my skin concerns. We went ahead with a facial treatment, but because I wanted something without extractions and more of a holistic treatment, she recommended I go for The Elemis Modern Skin Facial, which is the perfect treatment for a person on the go… aka me.

Freshened up and got changed in the changing rooms (which is large, by the way) and made my way into the relaxing, dimmed treatment room. The treatment featured a mix of cleansing (sans extraction), moisturizing and a mask, as well as holistic stimulation. It was so relaxing, I dozed off several times during the treatment. It not only left me feeling beyond relaxation mode, I felt fresh, bright and hydrated.

Post treatment, I felt EXTREMELY hydrated (my skin really needed it after a month of fasting). I also had a little bit of allergy on my skin that was inflamed and they felt at bay post facial. Also made sure to stock up on Elemis products post treatment (they sell a great selection!)
