This week I’m very excited to feature one of my favorite editors, and one of the best styling talents in the middle east – Harpers Bazaar Arabia Fashion editor, Sally Matthews. How do you stay chic and travel for work or holiday resorts? Sally tells you how…

After the craziness of fashion weeks and photo shoots my dream holiday is to take to a beach resort and escape the world. Holidays are also the time to break out and try something new. A new country means a whole new wardrobe.
For me personally I am a little freer in my approach to dressing, if it’s not a working holiday it’s time to let my skin breathe and work a more relaxed look, swapping the Wang heels for Zannotti’s hot s/s Gladiator flats and my sharp blazers for loose maxis and hippy headpieces.
I am not an advocate of travelling light and the phrase “capsule wardrobe” may as well not exist, I really admire those who can work out just the right amount to fit into a small carry-on and still look glam every day. I dress to suit my mood and who knows what that wikll be in a weeks time so for me I follow the motto “always be prepared” and as long as I have time to wait at the baggage reclaim why not take a big suitcase?!
Here are a few travel essentials every girl shouldn’t be without this season:
A large travel bag for all flying essentials, which can also double up as a chic beach bag for long days lying poolside.
-An  ipad is a must for travelling, especially if your flight is delayed, whiling away the hours watching Gossip Girl can be much more enticing than another trip around Duty Free.

Lots of costume jewellery to transform your outfit and look. If there isn’t room in the suitcase for anymore clothes there is always room for accessories. Layer it up for the evening to make a statement. I am a huge fan of LeiVanKash’s Olivia Rose ring sold at Sophie’s Closet and Odyssey.and  I live in chunky YSL, Chanel and McQueen pieces.

-The perfect swimwear this season as with every season is the bikini or swimsuit that gives you enough confidence to bare your bod on the beach. I am always drawn towards Diane Von Furstenberg’s triangle bikinis for fit and style.

-For the perfect summer dress it has to be a piece from  Erdems s/s11 collection. Whether it’s his sumptuous lace looks or beautiful floral explosions nothing says summertime more than Erdem this holiday season,
Beauty wise usually I would suggest a slick of gloss in the interests of keeping things simple and carefree but I am in love with this seasons bright fuschia lip trend which is perfect for glamming up any look, not to mention looking complimenting your sun-kissed skin. Keep eyes simple with this though and let you pout lead the way.

-Also forget the hair tools. Plait your locks or roll hair into a low bun during the day then just un-tie for evening and for surfy hair with minimum fuss.
